Drake talks about his life when he was 17, discusses how he tried to fit in, leaving school early, having a ‘neck-afro’, his addiction to eBay and a whole host of other things. It’s a fun watch – I really like this series. MTV finally steps up.
Still not 100% behind this track, but the video makes me like it a little more. Actually, let me rephrase that, that chick makes me like it a little more haha. Nah, it’s not a bad song, it just reminds me too much of something that could have been found on 808′s & Heartbreak. “Over” remains my tune and video though.
The anticipation is still building. I’m trying to stay out of it/away from it in fear that my expectations will be so high that nothing or no one can reach it – it happens. Album drops June 15th (US), I assume it drops June 14th in the UK?
Hmm, I’m diggin’ the production this (Ye’ comes through yet again) – do I love the track? Actually don’t think I do? The ‘hey hey hey’ is a little annoying? It’s not terrible, I think it’s a grower if anything. Thank Me Later drops June 15th.
Yeaaaaa, this sounds dope! J.Cole’s upcoming album is definitely one I’m looking forward to hearing. A lot of people are on the Drake Vs J.Cole tip, but I think theres more than enough room for both – granted it’s pretty shitty they both on the come up at the same time (lol), but that don’t matter. And it’s ok to like both – you don’t have to choose haha. Not sure if this is the full mastered version, doesn’t sound very clear but either way - it sounds dope – love that production.
Some high quality footage of Drizzy performing “Fireworks”, the opening track on his debut album Thank Me Later and the New Orleans Jazz Fest yesterday. He also performs other tracks – I don’t have time to watch this in full, but while I slave away – enjoy for me!
After announcing a string of festival appearances and supporting other artists in the UK, Drake is finally headlining his own show. On Monday July 12th 2010, Drizzy will playing London’s 02 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Tickets are £25.50 in advance (plus booking fee) and go on sale Friday April 23rd via livenation.co.uk. The show (featuring special guests) will be Drake’s first headlining date in the UK.
This is definitely good news, I do feel that the ticket price is a little excessive given that this guy hasn’t even released an album just yet, but regardless – I have no doubt this will be a sell out show – we’ll be there. Will you?
Good, albeit short, clip of Drake performing a new track off Thank Me Later, called “Fireworks” at the 13th annual BMI Urban Showcase. Drizzy’s debut drops June 15th.
Dropping a video at the same time as Drake is never a good idea (I guess it’s also unforeseeable lol), but either way – check out Melanie Fiona’s brand new video for “Ay Yo”, off her debut album The Bridge.
