Leona Lewis performed on the X-Factor last night [Saturday 15th] and well…just watch the performance:
Leona’s voice never ceases to amazing me. It is literally flawless. I was sent this track a few weeks ago and to be honest, I ignored it. But hearing her do this live was something else. I was blown away – had to watch it three times just to confirm I heard her do what she did. Hands down, the best singer this country has produced. [Boi, possibly the world?].
I’m praying her next album is better than her debut. She deserves all the success in the world, but Spirit didn’t even touch her potential. I understand what the label did, it had to be commercial but the next one needs to be a lot better. For real.

Don’t know about you peeps, but I’m hooked on the X-Factor this year round. The talent is craaaaaazy good!
For those of you outside the UK: the X-Factor is the UK version of American Idol but with a twist. The X-Factor has 4 judges and each have their own category: The boys [Simon Cowel], the girls [Cheryl Cole], over 25’s [Danni Minogue] and groups [Louis Walsh]. Personally, I think this show is better/more interesting than American Idol.
…But anyways, this Saturday saw the start of the live shows. I’ve told errrrrrrryone I know that I think Cheryl Cole will win this year. She’s got two of the best contestants in the show: Alexandra Burke and Laura White < who I already say is the winner (or should be the winner). Check their performances below and see what I’m talking about:
Alexandra Burke – “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”
Laura White – “Fallin’”
Honestly, I don’t often rewind performances – no matter how great they are, but I watched Laura’s performance about 5 times – straight up. She killed it. Her voice is differently dope and she’s just someone you WANT to hear/see. Not to mention, I already want her album!
Even though these two are my favs, the talent this year is beyond any other year we’ve had. There are some strong contenders and I think this series will be the most exciting to date. Boi. Love me some X-Factor.
UK, don’t mess up. Pick the right people – did you see what happened last year? Seriously.

Sorry. Let my eyes and mind just take that number in. Oprah Winfrey makes nearly $400 Million, confuse you? You think thats crazy, if my gyal comes and lives over here in the UK, she’ll be making erm…yea, around £200 million PER YEAR! Yes, peoples – £200 million!! LMAO! MAAAAAAD! Of course, she deserves every penny, she’s worked hard for it but dear Lord, that’s just a titanic figure man!
Simon Cowell banks around $50 million a year and talk show host David Letterman is on about $35 million per annum. HA! Compared to Oprah those figures seem like chump change. Madness.
Your mind still boggling? Coz mine is! I knew Oprah was making paper, but I didn’t realise she was still making THAT kind of money.

Solange Knowles is over in London at the moment, which actually, I was pretty surprised at. I didn’t think she’d do much international promotion for the new album, but I guess I was wrong! Hmmm…I really don’t know what to think about Solange or her voice. I’m warming to her personality (although she seemed unimpressed on This Morning, but then again, who would be happy having to get up up that early and sing?) but in terms of her voice? I’m still not convinced? I think A LOT of people (esp in the blogging world) are being overly nice about her vocal ability; I think it has something to do with her big sis or something? But either way, she definitely CAN sing, but I wonder if she wasn’t a “Knowles” would she really be a recording artist? Would she really be making waves with the voice she has if it wasn’t for her super successful sister? Be real?

Re: the debate…hmm…well, I always find it hard to have an opinion other than “that word shouldn’t be used”, but I think that’s mainly because I’m not American. I understand that cultural/colour divides are much wider over in the States than they are in London [of course I'm suggesting those same divides don't exist here, but am only saying they're not as wide (IMO)] and so, it’s pretty hard for me to related to the reasoning behind using that word…

What’s more f*cked up is that I am actually (no joke) ADDICTED to this programme. I literally know about every aviation accident of the past 20 years. LMAO. Like, why would someone watch this type of thing? Moreover, why would someone who is afraid of flying WATCH this type of thing? The answer to that question is: it’s such a GOOD programme! LOL.
It’s totally f*cked up < I have to keep saying that. I’m so confused. My love of documentaries and my fear of flying have joined forces to create this truly messed up situation.
I know you’re thinking “the reason you’re scared of flying, is coz you watch this type of sh*t”, but the truth is, I’ve always been afriad of flying. This kinda crap just doesnt help.
I still fly. Don’t get it twisted. I may be scared, but I ain’t stupid. I still fly and still go on holidays etc but I just thought I’d rant about this. Actually, the reason I’m writing this is because “Air Crash Investigation” is on right now! LOL. Yes. I’m watching it. This episode is about a mid-air collision over LA in 1986. LOL.
Don’t worry though, everyone LOVES to tell me “flying is the safest method of transportation” < so, I guess we ain’t got shit to be worried about right?

Yup, ANOTHER reality show people!
“[MTV] will follow the hip-hop star as he performs more than 1,000 of community service before beginning to serve his one-year prison sentence next spring. Ish Entertainment is behind the untitled series, which has scored an eight-episode order from MTV. Cameras already chronicled T.I.’s release from house arrest, and shooting will start in earnest this summer, leading up to his return to jail in early 2009. MTV plans to air the show some time soon after that.”
Can’t think how this is a good idea. T.I’s arrest/sentence isn’t something that should be used as entertainment surely? Not to mention, how many [sh**] reality shows are there about? Why would he want to add himself to that list? Do your time and stick to Hip Hop man!
