Ninja Tunes I salute you. The good people over at NT HQ have been dropping free musical bombs as part of their 20th Anniversary and this week one of my favourite groups of all time ..the Cinematic Orchestra..are on giveaway duty. The two previously unheard tracks were recorded in 2002 for a proposed Cinematic Orchestra radio show that was never broadcast and bwwwoy do they not disappoint. Make sure you cop the Ninja Tune XX box set when it drops! We will keep you posted here. Also make sure you check out Cinematic playing at the Royal Albert Hall 14th November!!!
‘Time & Space (Radio Session 13th May 2002)’ – a radically different early version of the epic tune on Ma Fleur featuring Leonard Nimoy samples.
‘Brother/The Revolution (Radio Session 13th May 2002)’ – a tune built around samples from the classic Gil Scott Heron track.
Brand new Foreign Exchange? Oh, it’s a great day!
Taken off their new forthcoming album Authencity, which drops October 12th, ‘Maybe She’ll Dream of Me’ is produced by Nicolay & Phonte and has Zo! on the piano. This is just…Ah, just press play/download already!
The music these guys produce is exactly (and I mean, exactly) the type of music I love. It’s incredible how on point they are. Cannot wait for that new album.

P.s Gonna add a stream and direct download in a minute, hol’ tight.
New offering from one half of those Rawkus Kidz in the Hall….this had me head-nodding in a ‘ard way this morning. It’s that krunchy nut cereal kind of music…thoughts please

This dropped no less than 24 hours ago and we’ve actually been arguing at PinBoard HQ over wheather or not to post this (Speeakz’ co-pilot S.P. writing here because Speeakz’ refused to drop this audacious/semi-sacrilege remix and he wants the good folks at home to know that, lol).
Kanye West is either an arrogant blaspheme or a post-mod God.
I’ll sum up initial sentiments at 5am this morning: surreal.
We’re going to let our readers (the underground AND the overground heads) decide for themselves.

Despite a ‘minor setback’ on Mickey’s 7th mixtape, I’m Better Than You, he’s still dropping a new freestyle. While we wait for the new tape, let this tide you over.

In celebration of his performance and Rinse FM’s 16th birthday at Fabric next week (10th September), Roska’s offered up a brand new, never before released track entitled ‘Play Gamez’. Listen and download from the soundcloud player below (to download click the downward facing arrow). Peep the flyer for event at Fabric after the jump…
Ergh, this is ridiculous.
Anything attached to Georgia Ann Muldrow instantly gets my attention, put Stones Throws’ MED into that equation and it’s all good times. This track not only features Muldrow, but was also produced by the lady herself. Musical porn, audio butter – whatever you want to tag it – this is it. That thumping bass, the soulful chord progression, the elusive but distinct percussion,(hear those bells?), combined with MED’s staple flow and Georgia Anne Muldrow’s unfuckwithable vocals – yea, I got my soundtrack for the day. This will be on repeat for the foreseeable future.

Melo-X & Jesse both sent me this track yesterday, but I’ve only just reached my computer today, so while I’m a little late – it’s definitely better than never. Boykins has been covering Andre 3000′s ‘Prototype’ at his live shows for a minute now and so he decided to record it properly to feed to the masses. Enlisting the help of Melo-X & Trae Harris, they set to work to recreate one of the most beautiful songs of our generation – their way.
…Jesse’s vocals are n-e-x-t on this. If anyone could achieve this, it’s him.

Newness from the Queen of Hip Hop Soul called ‘Break Up To Make Up’, not sure if this is coming off Blige’s forthcoming album or not. The ballad sees Mary doing what she does best – singing about heartbreak. I’m sorry, I know it’s not neccessarily ‘good’ to say that but we all know it’s true. I will always, always, always have love for Mary, but I really do need her to return to that Hip Hop Soul sound, that’s what she does best. Her last album was way too radio for me. This isn’t terrible though.

Here we go. G.O.O.D Friday has officially started. First track off KanYe & Jay’s 5 track EP Watch the Throne. According to his tweets this is the 2nd track off said EP.

P.s Lol. Nicki is NEXT!!!!!!
Yeeeeeah! This sh*t gets me excited – Jazmine Sullivan calls on Mary J. Blige and Swizz Beats for the official remix of her brilliant new track ‘Holding You Down’. The opening verse sees Mary re-visiting her classic ‘Be Happy’ (only one of my favourite MJB tracks), and then returns with a new verse all together. Jazmine of course, sings her heart out. Love this tune.
This is good R&B.
Update: CD version added courtesy of 2dbz

Nicki, what the f*ck are you doing with Will.I.Am? This track confirms my suspicions that Will.I.Am sold his soul to the devil and is out to fu*k up peoples music. I can’t even express how terrible this song is. Thankfully it’s not on Nicki’s forthcoming debut album, instead is off a new mixtape dropping from YMHD on Monday.
I’m pissed. Love me some Minaj. Pause.

Two new tracks off Trey Songz forthcoming album Passion, Pain & Pleasure. You know, I don’t hate or love either of these tracks. I’m pretty indifferent. I definitely prefer ‘Doorbell’, think I’ll like it even more after a few listens, but neither are spectacular. Songz new album drops September 14th.

The homie Reggie B just sent me his new track called ‘Hypnotic’ featuring Donald Hayes. For all those looking for good soul/funk music, you need to get involved with Reggie B. This guy is producing some crazy material right now, ‘Hypnotic’ included. Love the vibe to this, the instrumentation (something Reggie always delivers on) is real, nice. That sax…
