One of Electronic musics most distinctive producers, Shlohmo, releases a stylistic new video for ‘The Way U Do’ – the latest single off his Vacation EP.

Beyonce shares some behind the scenes footage of her preparing / rehearsing for her upcoming Revel shows in Atlantic City. The concerts will be the singers first since giving birth to daughter Blu Ivy back in January. Clearly now back in shape and hungry as ever, we once again get to see the work ethic that goes into being “Beyonce”. Best in the game, still.

We have been happily tracking Lianne La Havas  progression since last year, when she was a relevantly unknown songbird.

Now with a tour under her belt, a steady track of  releases and (un)official remixes  following filling up the blogosphere, La Havas is becoming one of the UK strongest female contenders for successes of 2012.

We were luckily enough to hear her debut album Is Your Love Big Enough last week at a exclusive playback. The album is filled with sensual, sassy soul packed pop music and bringing something a little different to the increasingly generic UK charts. This is the next single before the album drops 9th July.

Oh gosh.

This morning we helped wipe the sleep from your eyes by sharing D’Angelo’s interview with GQ – his first in years. Well if that got you excited, this will surely demand a change of undies. Not only did D sit down for an in-depth interview with the magazine and took part in a new photoshoot – he also performed a lil’ sumthin’ sumthin’ for them – but because he’s the messiah when he performs a lil’ sumthin’ sumthin’, generally it’s about 10 million light years better than most other human musicians.

Animalistic fantasy creatures, a young hero boy, a white city above the clouds, giants and a flying pirate ship make up the visuals of Yoann Lemoine aka Woodkid’s new video. Using a very similar style of direction to his ‘Iron’ video, the new vid is another look into this talented producer/director’s vision. ‘Run Boy Run’ is taken off his new EP of the same name – out now.

Benga delivers another impressive video, this time taking to the sky for a little parachute dive. ‘Icon’ comes off his new album Chapter 2, due out August 27th.

Here is the new single from Bristol based quartet Seasfire. Set for a July 9th release I have fallen in love with this low-fi, deeply atmospheric number. Half expecting this to drop into some poor dubstep-esque beat trap, I was pleasantly suprised with it’s direction. The juxtaposition between heavy fuzz and the uplifting keys with the right dose of levelled distortion. Let us not also bypass the serious serious groove underwriting the whole thing. The video follows in the same black and white vein as their debut single Falling. Gutted I missed them over the Great Escape weekender. Expect major movements from this lot

Frank Ocean’s last few releases have definitely helped improve my appreciation of his music – the deliverance of ‘White’ (off the Odd Future tape) in particular – opened my mind further to his capabilities. It put in focus the glimpses of genuine brilliance we heard scattered (too sparsely, in my opinion) across his break out mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra.

Now by releasing this raw, unpracticed performance of a new song called ‘Summer Remains’ – we’re once again allowed a peak into his artistry. Both lyrically and melodically – this sounds beautiful.

Hopefully we’ll hear the full song at some point.

Zurich based Jazzo & Melodiesinfonie have blessed us with this warped out, lazy drum pad masterpiece. Off the upcoming Wasser EP which is set to drop tomorrow on Soulection, this joint knocks hard. This banger comes off the recently released Black Boulder album which dropped on Modeselektor’s 50 Weapons imprint. Featuring the buttery vocal talents of Tunde Olaniran (who reminds me somewhat of PB favourite Marques Toliver), this 2-stepper is straight vibes and available to pick up here, the rest of the album follows in a similar vein and you can hear snippets over on Phon.O’s Soundcloud

Features and collaborations are great ways for up and coming artists to get some attention and keen eared listeners to spot  burgeoning talents. Something Py has clearly taken on board, seeking out producers including Raffertie, Throwing Snow and IO to collaborate with before now.

Py first appeared on my radar however by way of her tender offering on Lapalux’s ‘Moments’ a track form his brilliant Brainfeeder released When Your Gone EP. Here the London based Brightonian releases the visuals Directed by Simone Pellegrini, for a track of her own ‘Lungs’ produced by George Fitzgerald. The track itself a combination of bouncy yet mellow house beats and vocals that echo turn of the century garage hooks makes for sultry listening.

‘Lungs’ is taken from her Tripping on Wisdom Mixtape, which will be available for free download from her Facebook page from May 21st.

This week I have mainly been listening to Ab-Soul’s Control System. It’s a fine debut filled with soulful, fully knocking (and trippy) tracks – executed brilliantly by Top Dawg’s other (not-so) secret weapon. ‘Terrorist Threats’, the newest single taken off the album features that ever charismatic Danny Brown geeza, along with the soothing and uber swag vocals from Jhené Aiko (who coincidentally just leaked a new cut not long ago). You may recognise the distinctive Mach Five duo from their recent collaboration with poster child of alt hip hop, Danny Brown recently.

A.ware and Corey Davis have been throwing out their unique sound to the interweb since their first EP Stepchild back in 2008, which successfully gained a following in their hometown Atlanta and further.  Since then they have shared the stage with the likes of Pac Div, Micky factz, and Brittany Bosco. Taken from their Ratchet Shit Vol. 2 project, this comedic  stoner-hop anthem, talks girls, drugs and partying. You know the important stuff in life.
