You’ll remember getting mind-boned by A.Chal back in January when he released ‘Roses On Your Silhouette’. You’ll also remember us saying he used to run by the name of Precize (GFNYC, Mickey Factz, Jade etc) but now works under his birth name Alejandro Chal aka A.Chal. Well in case you forgot, he’s back with a reminder and this time he’s hell bent on fully impregnating your ears.
‘Paid in Full’ is an all-out assault of genre-melting, bass hungry, epic trillness. The after-hours production incorporates the bubbling bass sounds of London, the gully influences of the Dirty South & the moody tones of Toronto and binds them in Chal’s warped musical perception. Listen loudly.
Expect his debut project Ballroom Riots soon.

Celebrated songwriter Ester Dean has just released a sexy new solo single aptly titled ‘Baby Making Love’. Taken off her upcoming debut album, the single borrows a lot of style from the early 90′s, but isn’t so ‘throwback’ that it sounds dated or boring. Not only a talented songwriter, Dean really shows off the grit and strength in her voice here. This is strong.
Frank Ocean’s last few releases have definitely helped improve my appreciation of his music – the deliverance of ‘White’ (off the Odd Future tape) in particular – opened my mind further to his capabilities. It put in focus the glimpses of genuine brilliance we heard scattered (too sparsely, in my opinion) across his break out mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra.
Now by releasing this raw, unpracticed performance of a new song called ‘Summer Remains’ – we’re once again allowed a peak into his artistry. Both lyrically and melodically – this sounds beautiful.
Hopefully we’ll hear the full song at some point.

‘What Profit’ is the newest offering from Grammy nominated singer Dwele that’s been floating around the interwebs. Taken off his yet-titled forthcoming LP, he dedicates the song to his female admirers, informing them on what he’s able to offer if he were their man.
Not a bad track, just one that I feel I’ve heard many times before from him – it’d be good if he’d experiment and push what he does forward a bit more.
Zurich based Jazzo & Melodiesinfonie have blessed us with this warped out, lazy drum pad masterpiece. Off the upcoming Wasser EP which is set to drop tomorrow on Soulection, this joint knocks hard. Lovely layered keys coupled with a live jazzed up ending has my ears well and truly peeled for the rest of the release. Video courtesy of the Dalai Limba
Another big-name collaboration from DJ Khaled – this time bringing together Chris Brown Breezy, Lil’ Wayne Wheezy, Nicki Minaj Roman and Rick Ross the Bawse. F*ck it, it’s Monday – press play.
