Collaborations are no longer as cringe worthy as the days of Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder or Eminem and Elton John. Awkward.
With Watch The Throne reigning high, I’m much more welcoming of duets. The latest one to get the music world in a spur is news of James Blake and Bon Iver. What we know so far is that the forthcoming alliance is to be revealed on August 24 and is titled ”Fall Creek Boys Choir” which is named after Bon Iver’s studio in Wisconsin.
Will be sure to keep you posted.

No one can ever say this guy doesn’t put in the work. After the internet blow up of his mixtape releases, a debut album on the way and the generous Sunday giveaway these past few weeks, we now are treated to a world tour.
I don’t use the word ‘treat’ lightly either. After seeing him at his first solo UK show in the UK back in January, the charasmatic rapper convinced us all then why Cole World is about to take over. 3 months solid touring from August 23rd to December 12th, I’m sure Cole will surely be able to spread his gospel to the masses.
Peep the dates over the jump, make sure you see him in a city near you soon.
Let’s be honest…The Weeknd has had my iPod on smash since House Of The Balloons dropped what seems like an age ago now. The Birds and it’s military drums satisfied my ears and I am eagerly awaiting this next instalment. This is the artwork for the second in the trilogy Thursday ( Third instalment being the Echoes of Silence). Today is Thursday….which means keep eyes peeled in the next 24hrs ya dig

After the terrible act of wrecklessness that we reported a few days ago, PIAS and AIM (Association of Independent Music) have set up a fund to support the 160 or so indie labels that are severly affected by the London riots. The Sony warehouse held many of the labels stock, which was completely destroyed in the fire. The fund will aim to “support the immediate needs of the labels and artists that we [PIAS] work with.”
Anyone wishing to contact [PIAS] and AIM in respect to this fund should email labelsupportfund@musicindie.com or click the jump for full press release and bank details.
Good to see people looking after our smaller labels.
It has been confirmed that Radiohead will release a 19-track double-disc remix album entitled TKOL RMX 1234567 on October 10th. The project will follow seven 12″ remixes the band have and will continue to release over the summer by producers and artists who are currently exciting and inspiring to them.
The new album released via XL Recordings will feature remixes by Harmonic 13, Four Tet, Jamie XX, Illum Sphere, SBTRKT and Mark Pritchard to name a few. Peep the full tracklist after the jump…
Our city is currently in turmoil, senseless criminals (not fighting for a cause, despite what you may be reading/hearing internationally) have taken to the streets to cause havoc – looting and burning cars, shops & houses.
Last night the giant Sony Digital Audio Disc Corporation (DADC) building was set on fire – the plant holds stock for PIAS Distribution, one of the UK’s biggest independent distribution companies who serve over 160 independent labels. While the full extent of the damage is yet unknown – this will undoubtedly have a crippling affect on many of the smaller independent labels – already suffering from a declining industry.
As you can see from the video up top, the fire is massive and as of yet has not been put out fully.
