Deviation will be celebrating the festive season at Concrete this coming Wednesday (December 14th), with a special 5-hour set from Benji B. With a successful year behind them the Dev crew will be closing the year with a proper salute to the very best sounds that dropped over the past 12 months.

It was bound to happen, wasn’t it. While most people leaked with excitement on hearing hype machine’s very own golden child, Frank Ocean was performing in London, I held my girlish excitement.

Since the Amsterdam date was announced, I could only hope the Godfather would bless our capital city. Answered prayers and ecstatic screams later, it has been announced that D’Angelo will be at the Brixton Academy come February 3rd.

Our girl Azealia is making her London debut at Hoxton Sq Bar & Grill on November 6th. We first told you about this talented young femcee from New York when we posted her ’212′ (the video for which has been taken down due to a copywrite claim), we followed that up with her (bad ass) collaboration with Lunice on a track called ‘Runnin’.

… And we told you to keep a close eye on here – with good reason too. I think this young has a lot of potential at becoming a successful recording artist. Not only because there is (still) a massive gap in the market (despite what the mainstream media would suggest – one successful female emcee is not enough – remember the 90′s?) but because she’s also got a killer flow and a seemingly firm grasp on ‘what’s hot’.

In what is probably their biggest live event to date (and with Red Bull, that’s saying something) RBMA will be taking over the London Eye on October 13th 2011 to present ‘Revolutions in Sound’ – the worlds first music festival in the sky. Each pod on the capital’s largest wheel will be taken over by a crew or artist. As you would imagine, space is very limited but for those not lucky enough to have been allocated a ticket – the audio will be streamed online for all to enjoy.

Acts taking part include: Wretch 32, Skream & Benga, Benji B/Deviation, Rodigan, Metalheadz, Ms Dynamite, Kano, Digital Soundboy Soundsystem (Shy FX, Breakage, Donae’o), Andreya Triana, Ben Westbeech, Zinc and a whole heap of others.

Mind blowing. It’s hard to fathom how this will work, but if anyone can pull it off – it’s these guys.

If last year’s RBMA Carnival party is anything to go by – this year will be immense. Returning once again to bring the vibes is Major Lazer, along with a whole host of special DJ’s and mystery guests. The party is hosted under the Westway way on Portobello Road and is completely free, including free food & drink – all day. Yes.

Good to see Ghostpoet getting consistent but progressive love from the scene and even better that he has a headline show at Scala to look forward to this Autumn.

After working with us, in addition to a strong album behind him, hotly tipped for a Mercury nomination later this year and tour memories from all round the country and Europe, it will be good to see what is sure to be a great deliverance in London Town come Thursday 13th October.

Some of you may not know who Chris Cunningham is, but I guarantee you’ve seen at least one of his music videos. Heralded as one of the best British video directors of all time, Cunningham has lent his genius to artists including Madonna, for whom he directed ‘Frozen’, Bjork who’s vision allowed him to create the visual masterpiece that is ‘All is Full of Love’, Apex Twin’s imaginatively disturbing ‘Come to Daddy’ as well as what is, arguably, my favourite video of all time – Left Field’s ‘Africa Shox’ featuring Afrikka Bambaataa. Make sure you watch that video (above) if you haven’t already.

I’ve been a massive fan of his for years (even wrote an essay on him in university) and so am truly excited about this forthcoming show…

Following on from his sold out Royal Festival Hall appearance earlier this year, Chris Cunningham is now ready for his second London solo show, this time at Camden’s Roundhouse on June 1st 2011. The ‘full live audio visual show’ will showcase “a large swath of brand new material following the unveiling of his video/remix of Gil Scott Heron’s ‘New York is Killing Me at MOMA earlier this year”.

Plug Research’s brand new British signee and PinBoard favourite, Szjerdene is performing an intimate show at the legendary 100 club on Saturday 14th May.

Her first gig since making the huge announcement a few weeks back will see Szjerdene coupled with nothing but keys and her alluring voice. If you have never been lucky enough to catch Szjerdene live in action before, now is the perfect time to see this songbird’s ‘debut’, while she’s on the rise.

To the PinBoard team’s delight,  Danish duo Quadron will be heading to our UK shores for their first ever show on British soil on May 12th.

We have been supporting the electronic soul that they have been putting out for a while. Their self titled debut release definitely still gets love and plenty rotation.

I’ve seen Alicia Keys in concert a bunch of times, but this show – I have to be at.

To commemorate the 10 year anniversary of her debut album Songs in A Minor, Keys will play a special one-off show at the historic Royal Albert Hall accompanied only by her piano.

The ‘Piano & I: A One Night Only Event with Alicia Keys’ will see the Grammy winner performing the album in it’s entirety, while sharing personal stories about the process behind making it.

“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Songs in A Minor than by holding a special, intimate concert for my fans…It’s my absolute favorite way to perform. There is something so special about just me on my piano connecting with the audience. It brings me back to the very beginning when I could only perform with a keyboard and to now be able take it back to the essence of who I am with this show, it is so exciting”

Tickets go on sale Friday April 15 at 9am.

To coincide Alicia will also release a 10th Anniversary Deluxe and Collector’s Edition of her debut album on June 27th.

… I could write a dissertation on this album and what it means to me. I remember the day I discovered it (in Our Price!), I remember the first time I played it, I remember telling everyone who would listen about it – without question an important album to me. So for me, this event cannot be missed. Looking forward to it immensely.

Last night was the energetic, live album launch for Big Dada’s hotly tipped signee Dels down in London’s trend-hub, Hoxton.

Firing on all cylinders alongside his backing band, Dels ran through a set list of new favourites from the forthcoming debut LP Gob (released 2nd May), proving why his combo of intelligent lyricism and diverse, electronic soundbeds are marking him out as rather precocious step for Brit-Hop in 2011.

OFWGKTA will make their UK festival debut at this years Camden Crawl.

The crawl takes place over 20 venues in Camden – Odd Future will be playing the Red Bull Bedroom Jam Arena, which will been streamed live via their website.
