Zurich based Jazzo & Melodiesinfonie have blessed us with this warped out, lazy drum pad masterpiece. Off the upcoming Wasser EP which is set to drop tomorrow on Soulection, this joint knocks hard. Lovely layered keys coupled with a live jazzed up ending has my ears well and truly peeled for the rest of the release. Video courtesy of the Dalai Limba

We’ve been a fan of Suzi Analogue’s afro-future soul sound for a minute now and been following her steadily paced releases too. After the brief break collaborating with TOKiMONSTA, Suzi Analogue is back in her solo comforts behind the sonics and puts together an 30 minute instrumental package full of soul electronic fusions.

At only 24 years old, the Philly native produces a well rounded blend of Raw&B over mellow waves of synths, staggered mpc and hip hop switches. Great audio beds to listen and vibe to as stand alone tracks, but The Streets homage ‘Single File Line’ and punchy soulful ‘Hi School’ would make for the a perfect starting point for artists to jump on. Just saying.

…Otherwise enjoy the stream below.

A little pre cursor to the weekend dance floor flavours. After talks, rumours and whispers around the raves of a supposed collaboration, the two have collided. Interesting mix of minimal tinned, clashes and murky trip hop beats, from the Glaswegian and Montreal’s Lunice. The 5 track EP TNGHT is to follow July 24th and their first ever live show come 21st June at Village Underground Bugg’n.

Off his upcoming Odd Renditions EP dropping on the 15th May is this dope remix of Marvin’s ‘Ain’t That Peculiar’. The Original was recorded and written by Smokey Robinson in ’65 about the torment of a painful relationship and this rendition mostly capitalises on the originals chorus and feeling, with beefed up drums, cut vocals, pounding keys and some nice synth action. Piecing together footage of Marvin performing the song, well edited by Rob Mac. PinBoard favourites K-Os, Metronomy and Bon Iver lso get the remix treatment on the EP, don’t sleep on this one!

No Freedom Without Sacrifice is the critically acclaimed debut album from First Word Record’s Homecut. It featured collaborations with Grammy winner Corinne Bailey Rae, Mercury Prize nominee Soweto Kinch, US rap legend J-Live, cutting edge soul siren Andreya Triana and members of the Cinematic Orchestra and itself was a wonderful collection of audible gems. The Longplayer now gets the remix treatment courtesy of some production heavyweights. With some heavy-hitting hip- hop from Marc Mac (4 Hero), DJ Vadim, Herma Puma and PinBoard homie, kidkanevil. Reggae vibes from Lotek, broken dancefloor action from Souleance, deep cinematic funk from Capstone, hip hop-soul from Social Beings ft Ad-Apt and futuristic beats from Planas and Blue Daisy. Have a listen below and cop the album.

Last time Falcons gave us original R’n'Bass, this time the duo gear up for some summer sunshine by offering a free soundtrack of subbed, trilled out, hard hitting heat.
Finely selected, the duo go against the grain, to include obscure remixes of some classic tunes from Ludacris, Ciara and Jagged Edge. Also thrown in the mix, a modern edge made up of xxxy, Machinedrum and their own banger – Nigeria.

Souleance are producer extraordinaire Fulgeance and the French Funky President DJ Soulist. Fulgeance is rapidly becoming one of the most respected beatmakers in Europe with his work on Musique Large, One Handed, MPM and in his Peter Digital Orchestra guise. Soulist is one of the men behind the legendary What The Funk? parties in Paris and is a stalwart of the Parisian music scene.

As well as culling a selection of highlights from their three EPs, the duo have rounded out their trademark mix of soulful samples, crunchy beats and quirky arrangements with some very special guest appearances. The album (due April 9th on First Word Records) combines vocals from Rashaan Ahmad (Pride) and label- mate Homecut (The Unseen) plus drums from Shawn Lee (Ubiquity) and sax-vocoder from Kaye, on the stunning live rework of Le Plaisir (which also includes live bass from Fulgeance!)

The album has a huge range of influences that takes in breaks (Le Monde), Soul (Tryin’), Hip Hop (Pride), Brasilian (Passarinho) and even the funkier end of the 80s (Boobs). This makes their achievement in crafting a coherent and unified album all the more remarkable. The duo have also developed a fantastic live show, so look out for them at this summer’s more discerning festivals (including Croatia’s Soundwave).

Peep the new video above for the title track by director Émile Sacré. You can pre-order the album and stream some album tracks over on their bandcamp here Also catch the album launch with a live performance and a whole heap of badaman selectors here!
