Yesterday Destiny’s Child announced that they’ll be releasing “new music” for the first time in 8 years. The bands official website revealed that Love Songs will feature the groups best ballads, including some of their solo efforts. Most exciting however was the announcement that the project will also feature a newly recorded single produced by Pharrell Williams (and co-written by Michelle Williams) called ‘Nuclear’. Oddly the statement noted that the song would feature “vocal production from Beyonce”.

News of the new track is amazing, but lets not fool ourselves – this is just another DC-3 compilation album announced with absolute precision timing. But if like me you weren’t jumping from the rafters about the “new album” then fear not because the real good news has just arrived…

According to a number of media outlets Destiny’s Child will reunite to perform a medley of their biggest hits as well as their new single ‘Nuclear’ during Beyonce’s much anticipated Super Bowl halftime performance. The reunion will be followed by the debut of Beyonce’s new single taken off her forthcoming 5th album.

February needs to hurry up.
