First released back in May, Petite Noir’s video for ‘Till We Ghosts’ was brought to my attention by resident PinBoard selecta Danny Wood who recommended I check it out. Glad I did too. South African front man, real name Yannick Ilunga (21), brings forward an enchanting sound of varying elements. Part Afro-Beat, part Electronica, part New Wave – all woven together with simplistic, nonchalant yet dramatic vocals.

‘Till We Ghosts’ comes off a 2-track EP Petite Noir is releasing on August 13th. Highly recommend you listen to the extended player’s second track ‘Disappear’ as well – go here.
