Good morning Vietnam, don’t let the vultures fool you, Tyler is a prodigy and seems he’ll continue pushing his own creative perimeters. Dropping this short film directed under his Wolf Haley moniker with assist from Louis Ponch and a host of Odd Future pals, he employs some well cut comic timing, nifty camera work, set pieces and new found curiosity with (self-composed) sound design to make this 7 minutes one of his maturest yet. It’s somewhat The Deer Hunter by way of Robert Mugabe, with a pinch of The Dictator and Basqiuat. Something like that. Still, ambition is healthy. It’s how I can see Odd Future’s lead thriving beyond just any ole’ transient online sensations in years to come…
