MP3: Amy Winehouse – Back To Black (Demo Version)

DJ and producer Mark Ronson aired a rare demo of Amy Winehouse singing ‘Back to Black’ (a track he produced) on his 6 Music show yesterday.

The previously unheard version exemplifies why Winehouse was such a extraordinary talent – the way she wrote and translated her gut-wrenching songs is something that very few artists are able to do like she did. Her voice, raw and unmastered here sounds as powerful (and in some ways, maybe even more so) as it does on the version that made her historic Back to Black album.

Another reminder of how great a loss music suffered when Amy passed.
