Almost a year to the day we first introduced a burgeoning young artist by the name of Javeon McCarthy. Signed to London based cult label PMR (home to Jessie Ware, Julio Bashmore, Two Inch Punch), he quickly affirmed himself as an artist ready to create something new, while maintaining an impossible-to-ignore connection to the golden era of R&B.

His first two singles ‘Love Without a Heart’ (prod. by Julio Bashmore) and ‘Lost Time’ (prod. by Craze & Hoax) were both shining examples of his stylistic ethos and both displayed his talents as a singer. Then last month he dropped ‘Precious’ and together with producer Two Inch Punch basically shamed any attempts made by superstar R&B artists (no names) at reviving authentic, genuine, passionate R&B. ‘Precious’ established an exciting connection between McCarthy and TIP – both clearly brought out the best in each other. Vocally – Javeon was on some entirely next wave too.

With the single due out on June 4th, and an EP to follow shortly after – Javeon and PMR have released a live performance of the track – flmed at one of London’s most beloved record store basements.
