“I was super inspired from all the love in the air for Jay Dee’s Birthday [yesterday]. Got me thinking about what an inspiration Detroit music is. Then got me thinking about other Detroit artists. Then got me thinking about Aaliyah, another amazing talent that we lost way to soon. So I made this. Inspired by Aaliyah, Jay Dee and Detroit” – Shigeto.

I’m a fan of Shigeto‘s work and dig his interpretation here, appreciating those Dilla vibes over Aaliyah’s classic. Real mellow and ends beauitfully.
