EP: Hodgy Beats – Untitled

Odd Future’s Hodgy Beats has just released a brand new free EP simply entitled Untitled. It features 9 tracks produced by the likes of Flying Lotus, The Alchemist, Juicy J (Three 6 Mafia) and Thelonious Martin. I’m about to tuck into this myself, particularly interested in hearing that Fly-Lo collaboration.

Hodgy delivers a rather mature sounding extended player here and sounds assertive on it – he’s a slept on lyricist. Productions are on point, as you would expect with that type of smorgasbord orgasm list combining Juicy J purp, Alch soul and Fly-Lo experimental jazz, whilst the other names too hold their weight. It’s soulful, chill, at times sounding Madlib or Blu inspired. This may even appeal to those vehemently against OFWGKTA. Recommend you give it the once over at the very least…
