Our girl Rochelle returns with a new track titled ‘Shot’ which as ever was produced by long-time collaborator KLSH & Pat Preezy. In the same vein of her previous works, this is dark R&B number – it documents her love lost and the self administering that often follows. Can’t say this is my favourite Jordan track, but I’m still digging it.

Onra has just unveiled the first single off his forthcoming Chinoiseries Pt.2 album, titled ‘A New Dynasty’. The track is available for free and as you would imagine, is a beautiful continuation of the first part in this series. Featuring music Onra found while travelling through China & Vietnam – it showcases the hard-knocking beats this master has become renowned for.

What’s this, Justin Timberake in a music video? How’d that happen?!

Well, to reign it in – it’s not actually his music video, it’s for a group he works with called FreeSol. ‘Role Model’ is the bands second single taken off their debut album No Rules. While the song itself isn’t entirely terrible, JT’s verse kinda is. And it’s difficult for me to say that because I’m a massive fan and am desperate to see him behind a mic again. But the truth is – his Lil’ Wayne inspired ‘rap’ at the beginning sounds way too… Juvenile for my liking. I would have expected more.

… But as I said, the song itself isn’t completely bad – it was co-produced by Timberlake, who also co-directed the video (which I think is dope by the way).

Had an ear on West London producer Two Inch Punch for a minute (since that tripped Brandy refix), his future-groove techniques and freaked R&B ghosts fermenting a fine Lovestep brew.

Hold on – do I detect ‘Tell Me’ by Groove Theory?

New EP titled Love You Up drops on PMR on October 31st.

Sweet boy flex.

After dropping a couple singles (here & here) Hawthorne Headhunters have released their new EP entitled Myriad of Now via Plug Research. Their extended player arrives ahead of the duos forthcoming full length album scheduled to drop early next year. The sounds on this should give you a good indication of what they’ll be exploring on the new LP.

Flirting with multitudinous genres, Hawthorne Headhunters funnel their influences from Funk, Soul, Jazz and Electronica into something very exciting and warm. You’ll dig this…

We couldn’t post all the streams individually – but felt it only right we post/represent the two pods we were in (here & here). But for those who want to explore all 30 pods – hosted by the likes of Metalheadz, Ms Dynamite, Rodigan, Zinc, Lunice, YoYo, Digital Soundboy and tons more – all you have to do is head over to the RBMA Radio website and select your desired streams.

For good measure, I’ve included a few key ones under the cut – we nice like that…

As one half of the crew enjoyed the sounds of Deviation, the other elevated high above LDN with Andreya Triana & Tanya Auclair. Both beautiful ladies brought their own unique sounds to the forefront of Pod #12 – performing songs off their respective EP’s & LP’s. It was a little magical. Listen to what they got up to (and hol’ tight ‘dreya’s cover of Missy Elliott & Chaka Khan!).

Get ready because I’m about to post a few of these…

As you know RBMA took over the London Eye last week for their international world tour. “Epic” is a bit of an understatement, but you get the idea. I’ve been waiting for the shows to be available online since then – and here we are.

Up first is our Deviation fam and their incredible string quartet. Benji B runs through jams like it’s nuffin’ as per. Highly suggest turning your speakers up and listening to this. Biggup Pod #1.

… Those strings!!!

We introduced you to the 14th last month when they released their debut single ‘Hide Yourself’. The duos unique blend of Soulful art-house Pop, Garage and Electronica sent ripples across the blogosphere – since then, they’ve gone strength to strength.

Their EP was premiered on the Guardian’s website on Monday (#clapforthem) and is now available for all to stream via their soundcloud. Featuring 4 songs including the title track & a remix – each track offers a slightly different prospective of their eclecticism. ‘Chimes’ for instance channels a darker Pop angle, where as ‘Lights Off’ (maybe my favourite song off the player) is earthier and more introspective – featuring beautiful and melancholic vocals from Tom (who normally takes control of the production).

Keep your eyes and eats locked on these two – they’ve got a lot more up their sleeves. 2012 will be theirs.

Joker drops another single off his forthcoming album The Vision (November 8th). ‘On My Mind’ features vocals from William Cartwright and displays Joker’s more Soulful side. This subtle monster is possibly my favourite leak from the album thus far.

Since we filmed this, Emeli Sandé is fast becoming a force to be recognised with.Following on from her Number 2 debut single ‘Heaven’, Sandé comes back with ‘Daddy’. I’m sure it will be another hit in the charts, but more to our PinBoard taste is this rather haunting remix.

I was surprised by Ifan Dafydd’s take on the track, as he delivers a possessive dubstep spin to bed the singers fragmented textured vocals.  I couldn’t of imagined it would have worked, but it does and oh so well.

Gonjasufi’s album A Sufi and a Killer (Warp Records) was one of the most musically interesting albums of 2010 – it was weird and intriguing and I loved it. Since then Gonjasufi has teamed up with Hydroshare.tv and together will be releasing a new EP entitled The Ninth Inning – which will feature all new music (he’s been holding on to for the past year).

The first track off the EP features Blu and was produced by Johnson&Jonson (Blu & Mainframe) and as you would imagine with those names attached ‘Eatfish’ is a little special. The production on this is beautiful – the drums and the celestial peripherals that surround them work sublimely. And as standard Blu comes through with his trademark killer verse and Gonjasufi’s haunting vocals pierce all that stands in its way.

The Ninth Inning EP will be released for free on October 24th via Hypdroshare.tv. Listen and download the first single below…

You know this EP right here still gets love… here’s a video from one of the EP cuts.  Directed by Slakah the Beatchild too.

Admittedly, it may seem that most of my posts these days are about Lianne La Havas and duely so.
It is a pleasure to unapologetically support a upcoming UK artist who is giving something a tad more special than the rest. Lianne La Havas accomplished what every artist wants and performed on Jools Holland last night.  The acoustic performance of ‘Age’ is taken from her Lost and Found EP out now

Watch up top and just watch her star rise come 2012. #TrustUs

Apparently tricking out ‘Video Games’ is the new teng.

It brings Joy-O out of hiding and has him duck back into tech territory with this blisteringly bassy retelling of Del Ray’s Nintendo skills, taking the producer’s trademark time to unravel.
