VIDEO: Beyonce – ’1+1′

Beyonce’s new video for ’1+1′ premiered a few hours ago – the Prince inspired song is taken off her critically acclaimed album 4.

… I definitely see the direction Bey aimed for here, but I’d be lying if I said I thought the execution was perfect. She looks stunning, this much is true (and always true) and while some of the shots (especially the wider angles and the parts where it switches from extreme slow-mo to quick-time) are beautifully captured – those D’Angelo inspired parts come off a little corny and somewhat contrived. The tears too, unless you do this or this – I’d stay away from that ‘gimmick’.
