Right. Get into this brand new Drake, that just dropped.

Here is the new visual offering from Big Dada member Elan Tamara who has recently been touring and singing with the homie DELS. With the soundtrack produced by beatsmith KWES (those keys and opening drums kill me every time…..), Megan Sharp adds some nicely shot footage which adds a nice contrast and dope colouring to Elan’s performance. This track is off her current EP Organs which you can pick up on iTunes now. You can download a copy of the single below. Enjoy and keep your eyes peeled for more from this Walthamstow badgyal… Looking forward to the upcoming longplayer.

I really like Cocknbullkid, have done for a long time now – she’s got a great voice and energy – but I really can’t make my mind up about her new single ‘Yellow’. It’s very Pop, but not in a cheesy way – she manages to keep it credible. However, at the risk of sounding like a bit of a grinch, this might be a little too… ‘Upbeat’ for my liking. Something about it isn’t working for me but I can see it doing really well – it is a good Pop song.
What do you think…?
I was introduced to Vlooper by my co-pilot last year when he dropped AnaloGLovE, a free album he created with singer Modlee. He followed this up with a release last month called Copycat: A Dilla Tribute and now he’s back with a new jam titled ‘Gun Gus Gus (Dimanche Soare)’.
… You feel that bounce? Those drums are insane. Correction: this whole track is insane! Vlooper is actually on some next sh*t and Modlee’s voice is mad sexy – even here where she’s riding some robotic tone. Big!

Having written songs for the likes Rihanna, Ciara, Britney Spears and The Black Eyed Peas, Stacy Barthe is now out to get her own. Her new song produced by B.Carr and featuring man of the moment Frank Ocean is really special. From the laidback, nu-R&B beat, to her vocals and melodies – this is dope in everyway. Lyrically too, Barthe really shines. Having Ocean on there is definitely a bonus. This is on repeat.
… R&B on the comeback

Been addicted to this tune tune for a minute, I actually can’t get enough of it. ‘Marilyn’ comes off Floating Point’s new 12″, which also features a beastly b-side in the form of ‘Faruxz’.
The fall to floor beat and the overly sexy synths of ‘Marilyn’ trips me the f*ck out with every listen. On the flip side, the darker tones of ‘Faruxz’ work wonders directly after. Both songs are available to purchase now – highly recommend you do so – essential listening. Stream ‘Marilyn’ below…
Sam Shepherd comes correct once again.
Here’s a bonus track off of Knxwledge’s recently released Gwapes EP courtesy of Fresh Selects. Not only that but two new videos for ‘Sohrd’ and ‘BeTheSame’ are also on offer (both of which can be found after the jump). Listen and download to ‘NeetFeet’ below…

We’ve been supporting SBTRKT for quite some time now so it’s very exciting to see him readying the release of his self-titled debut album. We’ve had an advance copy of it for some time and think it’s pretty brilliant – but now you too can get in on the action as he’s put up a full album stream on his website (via Hype Machine) ahead of it’s June 27th release.
Have a listen, you’ll probably love this as much as we do.
Dego’s much anticipated debut solo album A Wha’ Him Deh Pon is released today via 2000Black.
We dropped the pre-cursor mixtape from DJ Brainchild a couple weeks back which featured exclusive Dego tracks (you really need that tape!) but now it’s time for you to get involved in the full release. You can preview all the tracks via the Soundcloud player below and once convinced – you can purchase it here.
If you like Jazzy inflections, Funky basslines and Soulful melodies – you’ll be sure to enjoy this. A Wha’ Him Deh Pon brings the Sunshine, even when the weatherman doesn’t.
Super Basement is the debut EP from Toronto born/based producer Jesse Futerman being released today via our friends over at JusLikeMusic. My knowledge of Jesse isn’t too extensive, I know he’s been featured on a couple compilations, but this is my first real experience of his music and I must say, I’m really loving his productions. The soft nature of his Soul-Jazz driven beats are really quite beautiful, at times utterly tranquil. Super Basement boast some sublime compostions and the best part – it’s completely free. Listen and download below.
This morning I mentioned on twitter that the whole ‘Team UK’ movement hasn’t really resonated with me. Everyone (over here) seems so quick to celebrate the mediocrity of the ‘Hip-Pop’ fad, but if the focus was taken away from the achievement of chart success and the music dissected, most would see / hear that in actual fact what they are listening to is just a major label attempt to merge ‘street cred’ (pause) and the ‘Euphoric R&B’ crap the mainstream mindlessly lap up. Yea, I said it.
… If music on these shores sounded a little more like this however, I wouldn’t have to say all that. Good track here, maybe not the best I’ve ever heard, but does find a good balance between commercialability (the hook) and credibility (the beat/character/content).
Dream Mclean first caught my attention when he dropped his ‘Woo Riddem’ freestyle, I was impressed by this young emcee’s rigor. ‘Golden’ has confirmed to me that as I suspected, he is worth watching; Something about him I find to be very… promising. Not something I can say for many of his charting comrades. Naturally, there is room to grow but that goes for any young up and comer. Now he just needs to maintain, as inconsistency has been the pitfall of many UK emcees.

Weekend funk, anyone? Yep, thought so.
Like two evil geniuses, Londoner’s APR 101 & Om Unit join forces to create ‘DR Funkenstein’ – a beastly Funk jam named after the classic Parliament song. ‘Llow these torrential downpours in June, press play and slip away…
You may have heard Emeli Sandé’s vocals featured on Wiley’s ‘Never Be Your Woman’ and Chipmunk’s ‘Diamond Rings’ last year. But don’t judge her for that. Inspired by the likes of Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone, Lauryn Hill and Roberta Flack, her own music is rich and diverse – not to mention, this Aberdonian packs a ridiculously powerful voice – displayed perfectly on ‘Heaven’, her debut single.
Featuring an early Massive Attack style beat and a band of lavish strings – ‘Heaven’ is without question a smash. Emeli’s voice on this record is absurd. This tune reminds me of something that could have dropped in the 90′s. I’m really impressed.
‘Heaven’ is released on August 15th.
Freddie Joachim is one of the few artists who consistently drop music of a high, exciting standard. His productions are in the simplest form – stunning. Driven by Soul, steered by a plethora of influences – the result is warm sounding beat with multifaceted sections. Listen and download (for free) via the player below…
After the jump you can listen to a remix he did of Talib Kweli’s ‘Hostile Gospel’ – it too is worth a listen.
