The eagerly anticipated debut from the even more long awaited sophomore album Bon Iver was played a few hours ago on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show.
Verdict?
Bon Iver due for release June 20th in the UK, June 21st in the US.

The new modern era Bad Boy’s on the block? Possibly with a bit more fire in their camp, quite possibly. Or rather this is nothing more than a far fetched lazy comparison by hip hop hopefuls. Instead, lets analyse what we have in front of our eyes. Nice beat, complimentary of Just Blaze. A few decent verses and a load of recurring floaty warbles courtesy of new recruit Teedra Moses. There is potential.
Look forward to more, when the Maybach Music collective drop Self Made, the album on May 23rd.
Simple. Yet, point is clearly received. Blow.

Do you remember when I posted this cheeky lil’ number which breathed some life back into that ol’ aged genre of two-step (if even for a moment). Now Little Black Ant decided to strip any rose tinted glances back into yesteryear, switch up the pace and bring it forward for this decade.
Honestly, this doesn’t excite me as much as the original. I mean, it’s good, I like it and does the job, but the claps, rattletrap synths and irregular but oh so meticulous drops has become the norm these days. The remix has kept it obvious and in the process lost a little essence of the fun and creativity that the Disclosure boys captured for me.
Yes you read correctly, those Latino twins are back with a completely different demeanour. They seem to have acquired edgy haircuts, found a love of monochrome and joined forces with downtown New York’s most stylish production duo, Creep.
I definitely am feeling this R’n'B, beat fest. Although a lot darker than how we may remember Nina Sky, the track possesses enough seductive cool that makes me look forward to more from this unlikely collaboration.
The LA quartet known as Warpaint brought their experimental art rock with an ounce of Thom Yorke soul and some girl power swag over on the legendary Jools Holland show. Up top is the guitar hypnotising, shoe-gazed ‘Elephants’ and the lo-fi, psychedelic anthem ‘Undertow’ taken from The Fool.
You know that we at PinBoard have nothing but love for Jilly from Philly. Music/Poetry/Art…we respect the creative game and here Jill Scott recently performed a selection of poetry before a special audience including President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama at a special event entitled A Celebration of American Poetry at the Whitehouse. This is a must watch! As well as being a three-time Grammy award winning musician, Jill Scott is also a writer whose collection of poems entitled ‘The Moments, The Minutes, The Hours’ became a New York Times best seller. Other artists who showcased the impact of poetry on American culture on the night included Elizabeth Alexander, Billy Collins, Common, Rita Dove, Kenneth Goldsmith, Alison Knowles, Aimee Mann, and Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers. Jill Scott embarks upon a new stage in her career with the June 27th release of her fourth studio album ‘The Light of the Sun’. Best believe the hype…this new longplayer is going to be next level. Welcome back Jill…we missed you!!
When I first got put on to this track I went straight to play without reading the title. If I had taken my time I wouldn’t have mistaken the “I love my boots more than I love you” for “I love my boo more than I love you”. This is way better than a jumpoff/infidelity track. It’s a love triangle song involving a man, a woman, and a pair of boots- the most mysterious of all footwear. Guess who gets the guy in the end?
When the vocals get dramatic they’re pushed a bit hard for me but then it’s right back to being a poppy, dancey, Maroon 5-y track with lots of bounce. Not a Maroon 5 fan? You can still like this one and you’ll have UK duo Sid & Sigala for getting “What do you want baby?” stuck in your head after just one spin.
One half of the awesome ‘Hype Williams’ outfit, Inga comes with this slice of dark and twisted dancefloor pie. Complete with haunting vocal stabs…get some good speakers for the bassline and enjoy.

It has been a (long) minute, since a UK Grime track has made me take notice, but Naughty Boy’s get together of 2011′s who who’s in the British scene has. I may sound like a nationalist, but The Boy’s production on this track could stand proudly next to what the likes of Swizz, Timbo et al are releasing this decade. Failing that, it will at least have you bopping your head.
F**kery’ (Out Of Order) ft Dot Rotten, Griminal, Mic Righteous & Sneakbo. Out June 5th.

Premiered live on Sir Gilles Radio 1 show this week, here is another track from Mount Kimbie’s new EP, Carbonated.
I can’t get enough of this. The mighty post dubstep bass takes control of your whole being at the beginning, only lets up at times to give room for dancey vocal samples and just enough time to bubble, before ending with the same omnipotent power. Looking forward to more of the moving Mount Kimbie.
Carbonated EP is out June 27th on Hot Flush Recordings.
