Shystie dropped her new mixtape a few days ago entitled You’re Welcome. The London born emcee (slash actress) has been relatively quiet as of late, but she’s officially back and with a tape that I have found to be pretty impressive.

With the exception of a few, there aren’t that many female rappers representing these shores as well as Shystie – her flow and lyrical content are very much on point – elements well displayed on You’re Welcome.

Admittedly, not every song speaks to me, but for the most part the combination of what Shystie is saying, how she says it and the beats she has chosen to express herself over has earned my attention. I mean, there are some massive tunes on here – I have to shout out ‘Ima Boss’ – probably my favourite on the tape. Shystie goes in over a neck breakin’ crunk beat – sh*t sounds like it’s straight out of the ATL – this one took me by surprise. Other highlights include ‘We Be Rollin”, the all-female ‘Warning’ (featuring Lioness & Lady Leshurr), ‘Headbanger’ (featuring Ghetts, Bounty Killa & Trilla) and ‘Fine Day’.

Would definitely recommend you spend some time on this.

Yesterday Tyler, the Creator and Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All literally ripped the Red Bull / Camden Crawl stage to pieces. The show began riotously, and ended very much the same. It was, from the offset, a brawl between the band, the mob and the “fuck security” security. The result? A full-on stage takeover – just watch the video, see the absolute mayhem.

Our insane highlights (which nearly cost us our cameras!) features performances of ‘Sandwitches’, ‘Bastard’ and ‘Yonkers’.

All this, but not before Tyler tells us exactly what he thinks of us… Ha!

… You’ll need to watch this to the end too. Trust us. Full on anarchy.

Goblin is sounding very special. A preview of the entire 18 track album is available here.

From this all too brief pre-order site c*ckteasing, my ears say neither DIY aesthetic nor deranged darkness seem to have been skimmed on for the most anticipated Rap long player since… erm… Thank Me Later. Contrary to which, it sounds very little like anything else in the commercial spectrum right now – which is all we wanted. Naysayers, fall back.

Awaiting to hear the full length and pass judgement May 10th; in the meantime we’re off to Camden Crawl in a few hours to see OFWGKTA play their most crucial UK set on this leg of the European tour.

A couple weeks ago some fiendish pirate devil managed to leak sixty-four unreleased Frank Ocean demo tracks. Bloody internet. Eyes do roll.

Story so far: by way of birth certificate, ‘Lonny Breux’ was the songwriter that later signed to Def Jam and changed his nom de plume to what your bloggosphere has recently come to know as ‘Frank Ocean’ (OFWGKTA’s smooth yet tortured lothario).

Am I yet to be sold on Ocean’s prowess & production value? Is the hype our peers have whipped up justified? Still to tuck into this bundle but shall find out tonight. He’s got 64 chances…

Petition to Jay Electronica – we, as avid supporters of your art for a number of years now, think you need to just hurry the f**k up and release an album bruv.

Respectfully yours,

Real Fans.
