I’m pretty sure a bunch of celeb blogs are going to focus on the fact that Prince brought Eva Longoria up on stage during this performance (Prince will always be that guy), but for me – it’s all about him paying tribute to MJ.
Prince and his band jam to the King of Pop’s 1979 classic ‘Don’t Stop Til’ You Get Enough’, albeit it for a short time (seems like there was more before the person with the camera hit record, but it’s enough).
Can’t think of anything better than Prince paying respect to Michael. It’s a damn shame the two never made something together. Ah well.
New MED, featuring Blu, produced by Exile. You already know what this is.
Was just discussing with my boy how underrated (not in the blogosphere) Exile is. He needs one established artist to give him an opportunity, once the masses get wind of his capabilities, I think a lot will change for this guy. Without doubt, one of the best underground producers out there.
Here goes another leak off Curren$y’s forthcoming Alchemist produced mixtape Covert Group which is expected to drop in 5 days. Like everything else we’ve heard thus far, this is another smash.
This pairing of Curren$y and Alchemist is a #win. Flow and production, intertwined – flotation vibes. Freddie Gibbs comes through too, must add.
New video from the one and only Wiley, who’s now signed to Big Dada (who can keep up, really). Peep it up top. ‘Numbers In Action’ comes off his forthcoming album 100% Publishing, due out July 4th.
And she’s bought a band of big heads with her to light up the dance. Somewhere between tribal chants and soldier struts, Santi doesn’t stray too far from the formulas that had previously made her feel like a musical insurgent.
We’re patiently awaiting a follow-up to the stupendous ’08 debut after her recent signing to Roc Nation. Let’s see if can she can clobber ‘the sophomore blues’ to death.
Well I’ll be damned, I was not expecting this type of video from Jessie J. Got to hand it to her and her team for this one, they got some really nice set designs/looks here, I’m impressed. I like this song too, it’s one of the better ones off Jessie’s debut album.
I didn’t love this song instantly, but it’s growing on me. This video definitely helps. Great to see Jilly from Philly back again. She’s looking overly good too, wifey material for reals.
After 2 projects with DJ Green Lantern, Rochester, New York native Emilio Rojas keeps his buzz going with this freestyle over Drake’s ‘Fear’ beat which gives this track its name.
Jamie Woon rehearses for his first Hamberg show in his hotel room (and towards the end, on stage) performing ‘Blue Truth’ in the process – a track he gave away for free a last year.
Nicely put together. Never bore of this guy. Woon’s album Mirrorwriting is out April 19th, read our review here. And if you haven’t already, peep his real ‘rehearsal’ when we filmed him at Red Bull for our on-going Rehearsal Rooms series.
I don’t think I’ve ever posted a 15 second snippet of anything on PinBoard ever – but, when it comes to Bey, do we really have a choice?
‘Girls’ ‘Who Rule the World’ is Beyonce’s new single, which samples Major Lazer’s ‘Pon De Floor’ – judging from this, the tinest of snippets, it’s gon’ be a banger. Overly happy she’s coming back hard with an ‘urban’ sounding track – it’s what she does best, a lie?
Cannot wait to hear this in full and for that video!
Update: I got an email saying this track is called ‘Girls’, but then a couple folks on twitter informed me that it’s actually called ‘Who Rule the World’. So, erm – yeah, who really knows – I combined the two. Lol.
14 minutes of Prince performing live with the New Power Generation? It’s a great day.
Premiering a brand ‘new’ track called ‘Laydown’, as well as performing the classic ‘Beautiful Ones’ – Prince and his band rock the Lopez show out, fully. He promised Lopez a show and true to his word, he freakin’ did. How this guy ages backwards is beyond me? So much steeze.
Prince on vocal, guitar and drums. That’s just how he do.
This appearance kicks off Prince’s ’21 Night Stand’ residency in Los Angeles, starting this week.
The Purple One also sat down for an interview which you can after the jump. During the interview Prince goes in on Ticketmaster, blaming them for the increase in ticket prices over the years. At the same time he thanks Live Nation for being able to organise such affordable tickets for his show. Tickets to his L.A residency start at $25, similar to his UK stint which cost £31.21.
… He also discusses his charity work, his diet (lol), his ‘vault’ and the current state of the music industry.
Arguably one of the most important and iconic groups in Hip Hop have have just announced that they’re embarking on a UK tour this summer.

With Spitta’s flow near-untouchable and Alchemist’s driven, soul power, the last couple leaks have left me feeling that this is set to be a tremendous alignment.
Severely, eagerly awaiting that Covert Coup tape, 7 days to go.
