We’ve been raving to this tune for a hot minute in the LDN (sure many of you outside the city have been too) – it’s good to see it finally get the video treatment. Omar aka the O.G aka the UK Soulful Godfather aka the baddest badman has teamed up with producer Zed Bias on this dance floor filler and together have created one of the most infectious, feel good, no-choice-but-to-move tunes around.
‘Dancing’ will come off Omar’s soon to be re-released album Sing (If You Want To).
The Kings of Leon put on a fantastic show at this years Coachella festival, you can watch the bands entire performance up top and after the jump (where you’ll also find the full set list).
To the PinBoard team’s delight, Danish duo Quadron will be heading to our UK shores for their first ever show on British soil on May 12th.
We have been supporting the electronic soul that they have been putting out for a while. Their self titled debut release definitely still gets love and plenty rotation.
The show will be held at The Old Queens Head in Islington and tickets are £8 in advance. Also there are some special guest joining them on the night. Maybe we may see their newly signed label mate, Szjerdene possibly take the stage too.
Having been a Big Chill go-er in recent years it has fast become my favourite festival on these shores. With a great mix of music/art/cinema et al which, excuse the cheesy saying, has something for everyone it has firmly established itself amongst the most diverse and quite frankly, bloody brilliant.
This year the good people at Big Chill have upped the musical anti on the rest of the festivals by announcing Chemical Brothers and wait for it… Kanye West as headliners on the Friday and Saturday night.
Also on the bill are PinBoard favourites Flying Lotus, Janelle Monae (!!) Andreya Triana, Jamie XX, Ghostpoet, Fourtet, Metronomy, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Jamie Woon the list really really does go on!
For a full run down of the line-up and tickets check here. We shall definitely be seeing you there!! (Shout out to Speeakz for his upcoming camping debut…)
Fresh ish from London Guuurl Estelle featuring the bawse himself…’Break My Heart’ is straight off the upcoming longplayer All Of Me dropping soon on Atlantic. She has come along way since her days spitting over Skitz bangers!!! It must be said I prefer her spitting to her singing but I shall keep an open mind until I hear the whole album!
Another brand new track from Sade, off her forthcoming greatest hits album The Ultimate Collection. Thus far, everything (new) we’ve heard off this album has been a smash, without question my favourite is ‘Love Is Found’ – I still haven’t fully recovered from hearing that. The ‘Moon and the Sky’ remix with Jay-Z is pretty special too though.
The Ultimate Collection, featuring Sade’s biggest hits, as well as 4 new songs (including this one) is due out May 3rd 2011.
Here is a lovely new remix from PinBoard homeslice Kidkanevil. Giving Stac’s ‘All Or Nothing’ the refix treatment. The single dropped on the awesome Wah Wah 45′s imprint. Enjoy!!
Today finally sees the release of the amazing longplayer debut Mirrorwriting from UK sensation Jamie Woon. It has already been a hell of a year for Jamie. Having completied a sold out tour around the UK and making his US debut at SXSW and shows in New York, his next UK tour kicks off in May. Mirrorwriting is already one of my albums of the year and I am going to be hard pressed to find something that tops it. Remember to read our full review here and make sure you buy the album via iTunes today!
Before you do that though, enjoy the video above documenting Jamie and Royce’s beardjack debut in Hamburg. Directed by Martyn Thomas and featuring a rehearsal version of ‘Echoes’. And if you haven’t already, peep his real ‘rehearsal’ when we filmed him at Red Bull for our on-going Rehearsal Rooms series.
Now who remembers the video of this performance last year? Sent shivers down the spine and thankfully, it’s finally being offered on the limited edition U2: Duals LP – which is only available for those signed up to the U2 fan club (or you PinBoard mandem!!). U2′s 1983 hit “Sunday Bloody Sunday” featuring Jay-Z from a performance in Auckland during their co-headlining tour last year is awesome, just awesome..! This track + London sunshine is putting me in that festival spirit! Now where did I put my warm Strongbow?…
Erykah Badu, Raphael Saadiq and now Kanye West – am definitely enjoying these full performance videos from Coachella this year. It’s almost as good as being there… Ha, yea right. Anyways – enjoy Yeezy’s epic stage show up top and after the jump.
Canadian beatsmith Elaquent has taken Mayer Hawthorne‘s “Shine and New” and gone nuts…..flipped it/killed it/murked it/ and then gave it a backhand slap after cussing it’s mum…wait for that 25 second mark. My gaaard. If you are unfamiliar with his work you need to peep his album ‘Persona’ that he dropped last year as well as keeping up to date with mans bandcamp here (New longplayer ‘Mignight After’ is available on iTunes now).
Having just got back from holiday it’s time to get my music catch up game orrrrn. Here is some freeness from Brainfeeder’s first lady and PB favourite – TOKiMONSTA.
A cheeky little bootleg remix of Télépopmusik’s Breathe which she has put out in the interweb to “show a bit of appreciation for my listeners and non-listeners with a new tune. It’s also a bit of a prelude to my upcoming EP…”
The legendary Raphael Saadiq performed an incredible 45 minute set at Coachella last night – you peep the entire thing up top. With an impressive catalog like Saadiq’s, you know his shows are never disappointing – he runs through some real classics and of course, does the new stuff too.
. Enjoy.
Sun’s out in LDN town today, lets keep things city-central and vibezy. Goldielocks comes through with a brand new track featuring emcee Frisco called ‘F*ckabout’. The bass heavy track is out tomorrow via her label Gut Instinct.
…Grab a cold beer, deck chair and hit play.
Goldielock’s ‘Magic Carpet’ (and it’s a-side ‘Pterodactyl’) still gets regular spins over here at PB HQ – hope you didn’t miss that one.
Yesterday Erykah Badu took to the Coachella 2011 stage to deliver yet another beautiful performance. Decked out in a Woodstock-esque ensemble, Badu brought her unique vibe to the party. Performing songs like ’20 Feet Tall’, ‘Soldier’, ‘On & On’, ‘Apple Tree’, ‘Window Seat’ and more and despite a few technical issues – she did the damn thing. The festival shut her off at the very end of the show due to time, she responded beautifully. Watch.
P.s Our #AintTooProudToBeg campaign to get Miss Badu into our Rehearsal Room is still very much active. Help us out, tweet @FatBellyBella, tell her what’s good.
