The legendary keys player Booker T Jones teams up with my favourite band on road…The legendary Roots crew to perform this hard hitting version of an absolute classic…..this is pretty damn special. It comes from ‘The Road From Memphis’ collaboration longplayer which drops on May 10th. Good music for your good ears.

From the forthcoming Prefuse 73 longplayer The Only She Chapters featuring singer Shara Worden. You can download gratis registering with your email and you’ll get the download link. Can’t hate on that! This new single seems very organic compared to the normal electronic mash up madness I have come to expect from Prefuse. Still this little downbeat number is a very nice first track to wet my beak for the forthcoming album which drops on April 25th via Warp.

Jesse Boykins III has created a short film for his Andre 3000 cover of ‘Prototype’ – have a peep up top and read more about it below…

“In a time where life is often guided by misconception and tainted love its hard to truly find someone who is there for you for all the right reasons. No matter how you deliver your heart to a person, you still have to wait for them to open it up. I came up with this concept to inspire honesty. I’ve learned through life, communication is everything when you’re in a relationship. Take these visuals as an example of how something could be if there is no truth between two parties. She/He is your prototype and could be so much more if you allow it. Never Take The Love Of Your Believer For Granted. Much Thanks to Andre 3000″ - Jesse Boykins III

Wild, dangerous new number from (experi)mentalist Daedelus’ forthcoming LP Bespoke, that pairs his left leanings with our man Bilal continuing his fearless streak into other realms of Alt Soul.

Brandy strolls down memory lane, reminiscing on her 17th year…

P.s When I was 17, I was obsessed with Brandy (ok, to be fair, I’ve been obsessed with her since I was 13). Eh, nothings really changed. Lol.

Jamie Woon performs his new single ‘Lady Luck’, as well as his debut track ‘Night Air’ for MTV’s Live Session – peep the latter after the jump. Both songs are taken from his forthcoming album mirrorwriting out April 11th.

You can also watch him singing a new album track called ‘Waterfront’ here.

… Still think this acoustic performance is much better, but then I guess you could call me biased. Lol.

Spotted this over at moovmt this morning, found it quite interesting so thought I’d post it up to expose it to you.

Pandaboy is the alias used by Marvin Bruin, one half of Stone Dectectives, to afford him the freedom to release music separate from his collective. ‘Green Shades of You’ featuring vocalist Eeva is the first single taken off Pandaboy’s upcoming album Green Shades.

I can’t say I’m that hyped over this one track, but like I said – I find it interesting, so I’ll definitely be keeping an eye for the album.

British super-star to be Jessie J made her American TV debut last night when she performed her new single ‘Price Tag’ with B.o.B, as well as a her cover of ‘Mama Knows Best’ live on Saturday Night Live. With no doubt after these stella (vocal) performances, Miss J will be in high demand and is stead-fast on her way for global stardom.

Focus on the voice. Lol.

Mos Def debuted his new song ‘World Premiere’ on The Daily Habit yesterday. The track, produced by Madlib is a real soulful number, the beat sounds warm and Mos sounds great over it.

I’m a bit fan of Mos’ last album The Ecstatic - I think he and Madlib work brilliantly together – I know many still feel it under-delivered, but I for one am happy to see them working together again. I’m looking forward the final recorded version of this.

Jamie Woon performs a brand new track called ‘Waterfront’ off his new album mirrorwriting – an album that I have obsessively listening to all week. I can’t even get into what this album is, I’ll save it for the review. Soon come.

For now though – enjoy this beautiful song.

Jamie Woon is that guy.

Load up those screw face, draw for them gun-fingers – this new ▽nknown ShΔpes’ EP is going to ruin you. Nothing but grimacing tones here; Moon Surfer contains that ’127-Hours’ type rawness. The grit, smoothed over by rippleless synths is sown together using the most utterly-butterz sounding basslines. The basslines on these tracks are enough to resuscitate the deceased.

Stream below, download up top.

P.s It didn’t come with a cover, so I took the liberty…
