Melo-X just dropped this little corker into my inbox, this is what he had to say about it:

Bomboclat!!!! MeLo-X, Jamie XX and Adele singing about her ex, there’s enough X’s on this track to get it banned in theaters haha. Either way, MeLo had to jump on this remix and tell his side of the story on his relationships ups and downs. This was originally scheduled for More Merch back in December but MeLo decided to keep it locked in the vault. Now is the time to release this gem in support of Adele’s new album 21. Stay tuned for more overseas love from Malcolm MeLo Mustafa X.

Melo’x additional verse on this is killer! Killer I tell you! Big tings.

Swizz Beatz is switching up his #musicmonday’s this week, opting for a .zip folder as opposed to a single .mp3. Not just that but he’s decided (bravely, so) to take on the works of the legendary Fela Kuti. He’s on a sound clash flex, mixing a little Busta in there, some Beyonce & Eve too! I’m about to get into this myself, so I can’t comment too strongly just yet, but I’ve uploaded a soundcloud stream for those who want to test the waters first. If you like – download.

Remember we dropped this Saul Willaims tune back in October? You know we got you, right? Well, here goes it’s official video.  ‘Explain Your Heart’ is taken off Williams forthcoming album Volcanic Sunlight due out May 2nd 2011. I loved this song from the minute I heard it, those droning African drums resonate nicely.

Saul is on something different, and I like what he’s bringing. Great use of triangles in the visual too – never a bad thing.

Our homie Mikael Columbu just passed me the trailer for Cee-Lo’s upcoming video for ‘Bodies’, which he is directing (!!). The track comes off Green’s incredible new album The Lady Killer and is, for me, the best song on the LP. Have a look at the short teaser up top, Columbu’s distinct style is instantly recognisable – pretty fresh stuff if you ask me.

Legendary Gospel singer Kim Burrell was joined by surprise guest Whitney Houston as she sang ‘I Turn To You’ at the 2011 BET Celebration of Gospel event. The ladies well and truly took it to church, vocals a-plenty. Whitney sounded better than she has in a long time, we’ve all come to accept her vocals are no longer what they once were. But she did her thing during this performance. Biggup Burrell though – those runs? Damn it.

London born soul singer Adele has stormed the UK charts, selling over 200,000 copies of her sophomore album 21 in just one week. This not only puts her (comfortably) in the #1 position, but also makes her new LP the biggest selling January album in 5 years.Adele has even more to celebrate as her debut album 19 also re-entered the charts this week, currently sitting at #4. Incredible.

As if all that wasn’t enough the ‘Rolling in the Deep’ singer also covers the latest issue of Billboard Magazine, securing some massive U.S promo – which I’m sure will confidently reflect into album sales. Head over to billboard.com to read the magazines full length feature on her – it’s a good read!

None of this is surprising. It’s all very much deserved. 21 is a strong album and a fantastic follow up to her Grammy award winning debut. Congrats!

Tail end of last year i stumbled upon a video of these guys and have been enchanted ever since. Acer Maple are guitarist’s Dave Austin and Danny Fisher. Having spent much of their careers playing as session musicians for some of the best vocalists in the UK (Eska, Vula, Tawiah, Nate James) they have come together to give their own material an outlet creating a seamless blend of soul and folk music in the process.

Early is a masterpiece in every sense of the word. The production is magnificent shining a bright light on the majestic brilliance of the musicians performing on each track, whilst Sharlene Hector’s vocals as always is flawless and the songwriting is of a standard so hard to find in today’s contemporary music. I mean if any woman wrote me a song like ‘Beautiful’ you’d get THAT “ring on it” TRUST!!! Have a listen below…

I really find it hard to fault. Every aspect of this piece of work is brilliant! The guys have a couple of gigs coming up next week and the EP is available now on iTunes now. Please don’t sleep on the is goodness give it the time it deserves.

New visuals from Jessie J for her new single ‘Price Tag’ which features rapper B.o.B. I have a feeling radio is going to love this track, think the charts will too.

New remix of D’Angelo’s classic ‘Left & Right’ courtesy of producer Freddie Joachim for your listening pleasure. This song is damn-near perfect in it’s original form, so taking it on as a remix isn’t reeeally necessarily, but, if you’re going to do it – you might as well do it like this. Joachim’s additional percussion and sexy bassline is discharging through my speakers rather pleasantly right now.

This will have to do as we continue to wait for this God’s return.

‘My Cloud’ is the latest track to come off Jamie XX’s forthcoming remix album which sees him reworking Gil Scott-Heron’s 2010  I’m New Here LP. This remix is a little more chilled then the others that have so far dropped, but like them – I am thoroughly enjoying it. Can’t wait to hear the full project which is due out February 21st.

While Jazmine Sulli takes some time out to get her ish together, a unreleased track has hit the interwebs for our listening please. This sexy little number once again opens up the question as to why Sullivan’s album(s) have been so susceptible to watered down pop songs, when she’s so clearly able to produce strong R&B/Soul songs like this? I once again call corporate bullsh*t. But that’s just me. In any case, glad this song has come to light – it’s now part of a my ‘perfect Jazmine Sullivan album’ (combining the best songs from her debut and sophomore album to make one).

Update: Oh, just found another ‘new’ jam from Gulli Sulli – this one is called ‘Anything To Have’ and go figure, it’s another massive tune. It sounds a little unfinished but I’m lovin’ this one greatly. Her voice is too much. Adding to ‘the album’. Download and stream below.

I have a very good feeling about Jazmine’s next studio album. Mark my words.

P.s Soundcloud are having some issues, so no stream for now. Seems like Soundcloud is picking and choosing which files to stream at the moment.

Here goes a new song from Jessie J, taken off her forthcoming album Who You Are which drops March 28th. The mid-tempo will be familiar to those who have seen Jessie live, it’s a decent enough song, I can’t say I love it though. While I am a big Jessie J fan, I can’t say I’ve been that excited about the music I’ve heard thus far from her. Still looking forward to hearing the full album.
