Here goes another new jam from the high priestess of funk Georgia Anne Muldrow, which comes off her latest album VWETO, released exclusively on iTunes this week. Layered synths, sexy snares, a nice little kick – Muldrow’s musical imagination continues to boundlessly leap from this world into the next.

Ne-Yo tells a TMZ paparazzi that he isn’t checking for the new Michael Jackson album and that he’s sticking with the “classic” stuff instead. The R&B singer goes on to say that he doesn’t think that if Michael were alive this project would have ever been released because “he was a perfectionist”.

…I co-sign everything he said. I’ve had the Michael album sitting in my download folder for a minute now, haven’t even unzipped it yet. It’s whatever init.

Swizz Beatz continues his Monster Monday’s with this new jaunt featuring Ace Hood. Production on this is pure swag. Screw face on, head bop in full effect. Think I’m in this kind of mood right now.

Lets keep it on a B.Lewis tip for a second.

Just found this 6 track EP by Soosh*e & B.Lewis called Space Music which was released on December 11th. Written by Soosh*e and produced entirely by B.Lewis, this is the perfect follow up to the last post. Can never have too much B.Lewis in your library – his style is so sick. The mix of Hip Hop and Soul is working nicely on me. Soosh*e sounds great over Lewis’ beats.

Listen to it via the bandcamp player below, if you like what you hear – buy it for just $3.

Deep baseslines, sexy melodics, hypnotic beats – f*ck the snow, this will warm you right up. Turn your speakers up fam, get in to this.

Listen and download 8.1 via the bandcamp player below. And if you missed first EP in this series, you can grab that here ($1).

Singer, songwriter, producer James Blake has revealed the final tracklist for his self-titled debut album due out in February 7th. The 11 track LP will feature his first single ‘Limit To Your Love’ – a song which fast became one of my favourites of the entire year. The single was unlike anything he had every produced before, in fact, before hearing that song – hardly anyone knew this guy could sing. Having put out a number of (brilliant) instrumental EP’s, it was a pleasant surprise to see/hear what he was plotting. If the single is anything to go buy, this album will be one of the best and most exciting of 2011. Looking forward to it.

**LATE PASS**

As you’ve probably noticed updates on PinBoardBlog have been somewhat sporadtic over the past week. We do humbly apologise. It’s not only that time of the year, it’s also worked out one of our busiest months. More on that a little later though.

Lets play catch up. This track dropped on Friday, yes, we late. But we here. Yeezy continues G.O.O.D Friday with this new festive number featuring CyHi Da Prynce, Cam’Ron, Jim Jones, Pusha T & Teyana Taylor. Listen and download below…

I grew up on two step/UK Garage music and had my weekly dose of house parties to hear my favourite tunes loud. Jammer has dropped a video that reminds me of that time and a song that would not feel out of place in that era.

Love that throwback vibe but freshened up, Toddla T hit it on the head, and a cameo by one of the original Godfathers of it all – Bushkin from Heartless Crew as well as a few other familiar faces.

Big!

Haven’t been in the complete Christmas mood yet, but this has helped. A load of stars performed in front of President Obama and family for the TNT special ‘Christmas in Washington’.

Maxwell. This is delicious.

The lovely ladies of AAries sent me their new track ‘Don’t Give It Up’ earlier this month but I’ve been a complete and utter wasteman in getting round to posting it. It’s Sunday afternoon now and I needed something fresh to bless my ears and remembered this sexy little number.

You loyal soul heads will recognise AAries from Musiq Soulchild’s ‘Settle For My Love’ off his Aijuswanaseing album, ‘member? Well, they’re back now with a brand new song featuring some throwback sounds, and Off the Wall-ish type vibes. This is that 7th day type soundtrack right here. Their vocals and melody float nicely over that 70′s texture. Enjoy.

Diggy once again takes on a Nassir Jones track, peep the young’an going in over Premo’s classic beat. This dude is on it. His flow on here, especially on the second verse is hella impressive. ‘Dig is Like’ comes off his forthcoming mixtape Past Presents Truth out December 23rd.

This is brilliant. The homie Melo-X has decided to put all his musical projects onto one platform – bandcamp for everyone to tek what they want. It’s been 2 years since he released his first mixtape Mustafa’s Renaissance, since then a few of his projects have become a little hard to find (deaded links), so he’s decided to re-upload most of his discography for ya’ll to grab. The bandcamp holds: Amy Winehouse Remix EP, Dusty Time Warped Vibes, Raphael Saadiq Instrumental EP, Mustafa’s Renassisance, BlacksummersNight Instrumental EP and Audio Forplay.

This time of year always brings out the critic in everybody, claiming what have been the best and worst *insert situation, product, place, etc* of the year in a simple list. This time it was The Guardian’s turn. This is one publication I often read for insight and a ever a honest opinion, even if I don’t always agree.

But I am sure we, here at PinBoard can be in complete unison with the broadsheet when they announced their number one album of the year goes to Janelle Monae’s The ArchAndroid

We have often times had discussions about how underrated Monae is in the mainstream (hopefully not for much longer) and the love Speeakz has for this woman is near Badu status – that’s alot! I am glad that a difficult listen (at first) had time to marinate with listeners to receive such an accomplishment.

Also happy to see that Kanye West’s late entry got the second spot. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy has been clocking up mad amount of plays on my iTunes since release and probably everyone else who owns a copy.

Other appearances include Arcade Fire (No.4), Drake (Joint No.17), Erykah Badu (No.32) and good to see some UK love shown towards Plan B (Joint No.35)

Errrmmm The Dream at Number 16 -Really??!
