If you frequent PinBoard you’ll a) know of Kiddkanevil and b) like us, love what he does. Therefore this post will, I’m sure, brighten up your (presumably) miserable Monday. The beatsmith has taken the reigns and redesigned tracks from the likes of Daedelus, TOKiMONSTA, BUG and more on his latest musical offering entitled Basho Basho Remixed Remixed. You can listen to the whole thing via the bandcamp player below and then, purchase it (via the same player) for the bargonious price of £7. Support good music. I’m about to tuck in…
Keri Hilson enlists the help of Timbaland on this new track entitled ‘Pass Me By’. I don’t know what’s more depressing, the fact that Keri Hilson is seemingly incapable of dropping an actual hot track or the fact that Timbaland continues to produce dry-ass beats.
Harsh criticism, I know – the song isn’t the worst thing I’ve ever heard, it’s just boring. Sounds a little unfinished too. #nostream
Amanda Diva drops the official video for her new single ‘Manchild’, which was produced by the one and only Ski Beatz and comes off her forthcoming Technicolor Lover EP. Diva sounds incredible on this tune, it’s such a big track too. Glad she’s back on the music flex, I’ve missed her.
Just spotted this over at Toya’s and thought I’d post it up for all the Bey stans out there. No idea why it took 4 years for this footage to surface but I’m glad it finally saw the light of day. Peep the 14 minute clip of Beyonce preparing for her 2006 MTV VMA performance of ‘Ring the Alarm’. In it you see the performer preparing for the performance and making sure everything is as perfect as possible. You get to see a side to Bey which ‘we’ don’t often get to see, the media savvy persona is gone and isreplaced with a ‘real’ person who like everyone else gets nervous, stresses out and at times gets a bit aggy.
The part I’m sure most people (especially those who aren’t her biggest fans) will focus on is the part where she mentions ‘stealing’ other peoples ideas for her stage shows. Anyone who things any idea in (in popular culture, art or otherwise) is 100% original needs to fix up – it’s impossible. Have you seen ‘Inception’? Lol. Art inspires art at the end of the day, so this isn’t a surprise to me. Granted it’s a little shocking that Bey’s camp allowed it to be filmed, what’s Papa Knowles gonna say?
Skream takes over on this remix of Katy B’s newest single ‘Lights On’, which features Ms Dynamite. The original is big and so is this. I do think it could have come a little harder still, but maybe that’s just me. Press play…
New track from Stones Throw’s James Pants called ‘Darlin”, taken off his forthcoming album LOVE KRAFT due out next year. This moody, 60′s sounding concoction will leave people either excited or confused. It’s kinda weird, a little different – I dig it. Have a listen…
‘Dark Fantasy’ is still simmering in the deck and G.O.O.D. Fri/Satur/day steam-rollers on relentlessly.
This sounds like it could be the retarded, contemporary cousin of ‘I Left My Wallet In El Segundo’.
For all the boo-hoo purists who felt let down by the anticipation of G.O.A.T. producers like DJ Premier, Pete Rock and Q-Tip’s inclusion (now lack thereof) on the ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ project, hear the Abstract turn this motherb*tch gully along with ‘Ye and their Native Tongue throwback brethern. Punch me in the face, it’s turning into a great weekend for speaker-raping Hip-Hop (a la J. Cole’s new net-set).
Anyone who has been around me over the past couple weeks will know that all I have been listening to is Full Crate & FS Green’s latest musical offering Eggs & Pancakes. That album has had me buggin’ out for a minute now, it gets better and better with each listen. Their production styles work my ears like a mofo.
Anyways, as if the album wasn’t enough, they’ve now posted up a brand new beat mix for Carhartt. I’m about to tuck into this myself, so can’t comment to tough, but I know these guys and know that this, like the rest of their musical output, will be somehting you’ll need in your life. Do the right thing, press play.
Another new track from ‘Michael Jackson’ (I jest), off the forthcoming Michael album. This definitely sounds more like the King of Pop than the ‘Breaking News’, but the song is pretty crap, still. I hear this was written by/with Akon – which explains a lot.
Haven’t listened to this yet as we’re all caught up in the scramble/madness right now. Will update with a brief review after Speeakz and I ‘go in’ via the large speakers.
Back cover with tracklisting after the jump.
Shouts to Origimoz and the rest of the tweeples for the working link.
The title of this post should really read NGUZUNGUZU remix Ciara’s rendition of Chris Brown’s original on some ‘I met her at 2AM in a rave in Baltimore, we fell in love with each other and then had hot sweaty sex in a jungle’ - vibes. They were also profiled by Dave Quam in the latest issue of XLR8R, worth a read here. Documented on a mysterious Tumblr, where a Dubble Dutch remix is available for consumption too.
The verdict is still out on Cudder’s latest album (for me), but peep his latest visuals directed by Jason Goldwatch which is part of the “psychedelic documentary” which will be avialbale on the Deluxe CD-DVD version of the new LP.
