Produced by PinBoardFilm, this is the first in a series of behind the scenes videos we’ll be filming and producing with Island Records signee Angel.
Currently recording his debut album, this session sees Angel recording a song called ‘Winter’. It captures the singer/songwriter creating the songs melody, writing the lyrics and arranging the instrumentation with his creative team. You also get to hear his voice up close and personal while in the recording booth.
Peep ‘The Winter Session’ up top and get familiar. You’ll be seeing and hearing a lot more of him soon.
UK songstress Adele performs her new single ‘Rolling in the Deep’ for the very first time on a Dutch TV show. Taken off her forthcoming album 21 is a full-on 60′s inspired blues song. A beautiful composition which shows off Adele’s vocals brilliant. Her vocals on that hook are ridiculous. She also sits down for an interview – she’s got such a great personality. She’s a North Londoner after all #imjustsaying.
Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’, which she recently performed on ‘Later with Jools Holland’ is currently my new favourite song. I don’t even know how many times a day I listen to it. I’m so looking forward to this album – due out in January.

I was out with the homies when this dropped last night, just got in a thought I should have a listen to it in full – the snippet didn’t leave me with the best taste in my mouth.
…I mean, it’s better than the snippet (obviously) but I still don’t think she’s come hard enough. This isn’t ‘clever’, it’s just “I was here first” / “You’re copying me” etc. Having said that – she has a couple lines in there still. A better (more inspired beat) would have made this better too.
And please, don’t think I’m siding with Nicki here. Kim will always be that chick – she’s been there and done it. Without Kim, there would be no Nicki but we can say that about most artists. I’ll always have love this Kim – but times have changed and she needs to come back right.
Nicki, respond. Please.

Marsha brings the sexy back once more with the 3rd edition of her SexTape, a series where she adlibs over her favourite sexy-time tunes. The first 2 editions have been killer, this one is no exception. All this is leading up to Marsha’s debut album Late Nights, Early Mornings which we can expect in the new year (fiiiinally!). Press play.

Last night Jamie Woon performed to a sold out crowd at XOYO in East London. This was the gig everyone wanted to be at, not only because Woon’s new single ‘Night Air’ has been blowing up all over the place, capturing a diverse, musically inclined, audience. But because we were all eager to hear what the rest of his album is going to sound like. Following ‘Night Air’, a song so distinct and atmospheric isn’t an easy feat. Luckily this guy has a lot more in his arsenal and a lot more to offer.
“I’ve never sold out a gig a day in my life” Woon confessed. Shy, awkward and perhaps a little nervous – Jamie readied his awaiting public by performing a new track and while the name escapes me, what I remember vividly was the way it packed a Dilla-like-swing – Yes, I wrote that. His vocals danced around the base with ease, his groove was mad cool. A broken-beat-R&B-Hip Hop hybrid? I don’t even know.
He continued with another new song called ‘Lady Luck’. This was not only good, but it was unlike anything I’d heard before (from him or anyone else). It was both dark and funky in equal measure. His melodies are really brilliant – pure slow slow (I know some of you get what I mean here). You can’t really put your finger on what exactly Jamie has created but whatever it is – it sounds f*cking great.
A song called ‘Shoulda’ followed soon after, lyrically, this was really exciting. It’s clear Woon knows how to write a song. His lyrics are abstract, sincnere and above all else, poetically beautiful. But the last line of this song continues to swirl around in my head – “you and I are the blood and the bones”. Song ends, we clap, it’s Drizzy over.
Well, not quite. He rounded up the evening by playing ‘Spirals’, ‘Spirits’ & of course ‘Night Air’ (album version features an intoxicating base section!). The audience fed happily on Woon’s vocal styling’s and coy delivery (he had the ladies at hello).
‘In the Middle’, which I predict will be his next single, closed the night – positioned over (what I presume to be) a BuriaL beat, the catchy hook was adopted quite quickly from all those who were hearing it for the first time. A cool follow up to ‘Night Air’, this one shows a slightly more up-beat side to Woon’s personality. I liked it.
I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again – 2011 is Jamie Woon’s year. We’re already predicting his debut will be one of the best to drop over the next 12 months. Overstatement? Presumptuous? Possibly. But after hearing what I heard yesterday – listening to a seemingly new and most importantly exciting style of music – Woon has got me hooked.
Make sure you watch our ‘Rehearsal Room’ with Jamie Woon, which we recorded at Red Bull Studios London if you haven’t already. You’ll love it.
‘Night Air’ is out now. Buy it.
Massive. Massive. Massive.
Not only will J. Cole be supporting Drake on his UK tour in January, but he’ll also be headlining his own gig at Cargo on January 9th! What a great start to the New Year, huh? Tickets are on sale now via Cargo’s website and will only set you back £15. Go now and buy yourself a pair because I doubt they’ll be around for very long.
So that’s Drake, J. Cole & The Foreign Exchange, in one month? Damn.
After the jump you can watch a live stream of ABC, the channel which will air Beyonce’s “I AM…World Tour”. The show, which has been made into a DVD, is a in-depth documentary on Beyonce’s worldwide “I AM…” tour. The special not only features performance footage, but also a rare insight into Beyonce as a person as she ‘opens’ up for the first time.
I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to stay awake to watch it, but if you can – you should! Hit the live stream after the jump and enjoy…!
*Grin*
This is getting a bit crazy now. Foxy jumps on Gyptian’s ‘Hold Yuh’ beat and seemingly goes in on both Lil’ Kim & Nicki Minaj. Have a listen and see what you think. #nostream

…C’mon ladies, can’t you all just get along? Lol.
Shouts to X
Apparently all performers performing at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade were forced to lip sync, including KanYe. Bit of a shame, but he still worked it out. That outfit though – wow. Lol.
It’s no ‘Indian Flute’, but…
Here’s a ‘new’ unreleased track from Timbaland & Magoo featuring Sebastian. It’s decent, but it’s not what I want from my favourite producer – I haven’t gotten what I need from this guy for a long time now. It’s beginning to stink.
Kidkanevil told me to ‘keep the faith’ yesterday – he reckons Timbo is gonna come back properly soon. I really, really hope so. I was listening to Supa Dupa Fly – I need that magic back. Those alien-like drum patterns, those samples? Missy, Timbaland – we need you. Now.

After a 3 year break The Go! team are back with attack. Stunning visuals and a real banger of a track. Really happy to see this sextet back in the game. This comes from their new album ‘Rolling Blackouts’
New visuals from Ruff Mercy to accompany Blu’s latest tune, BNG. Produced by the beat maestro Flying Lotus. The track should feature on Blu’s upcoming No York album. Brap
An awful radio rip of this snippet of this dropped a couple hours ago. Twitter went mad. I decided not to post it up as it was, because for me, quality is imperative and I didn’t want to give you guys anything less than that. But, here goes – Lil’ Kim – once the baddest b*tch attacks the current baddest b*tch (I say that like her album doesn’t suck, it do). Have a listen…
I know it’s not the full version, but from what I’m hearing here – it’s not good.
Lesson: Times have changed. If you’re going to go after someone, you really need to come harder (and more intelligently) than this. Kim will always have a place for me and most Hip Hop fans, I’m not even saying it’s over for her – I’m just saying this isn’t the way forward. But on that note – if she continues like this, it probably will be the end.
Minaj hasn’t dropped the album I needed. Minus 2 or 3 songs, it’s pretty terrible. But her talent is undeniable. Her guest verses prove that.
…And if Nicki responds, it’s O-V-E-R. That’s all I’m saying.

P.s Will add stream when full version is available.
