It’s Friday, we need some Dam-Funk, right? Yea. ’3012 Love Affair’ is the 7th installement of All City Records 10″ series, which showcases the best talent from Los Angeles producer/beat community.
2011 looks set to be a great year for Singer/DJ Yasmin. Most of us in London have known about this talented young lady for a minute now but many were first introducted to her when she sang hook on Devlin’s ‘Runaway’ single.
She’s now in front of the mic on her own and this is her debut single, produced by Shy FX, ‘On My Own’ really showcases what she’s all about. Shy FX on production a brilliant job on production – that drum pattern is doing it. It’s not overly produced and works nicely with Yasmin’s angelic vocals. That break towards the end is killer. Look forward to more of the same here.
‘On My Own’ is released January 24th via Levels Recordings/Ministry of Sound.
I’m enjoying this movement we’re seeing over here. Exciting times
KanYe West covers the latest issue of i-D Magazine for their ‘Back to the Future’ edition and does so in his usual ‘powahful’ way. This guy. This guy is that guy. Hard. Hype. Next. Word.
Another brand new track from Goldielocks, this time teaming up with Kashmir Kid. This track will serve as the a-side to her forthcoming release ‘Magic Carpet’. Press play, listen and watch the jokes visuals…
Quadron’s self titled album is one of my favourites this year, it’s beautiful, mellow and generally something I like to fuxx with. ‘Simili Life’ is a great example of what they do, glad it got the video treatment. Peep the official visuals, directed by Melinda James and produced by About Her Films, up top.
Michael Jackson’s estate has released a issue defending the legitimacy of ‘Breaking News’, a new song off Jackson’s posthumous album Michael.
In the statement Howard Weitzman, an attorney of the estate, claims having hired forensic musicologist who concluded the final vocals heard on the track were that of the late King of Pop’s. He goes on to express that after a full on independent review, producers who worked closely with the star throughout the years also confirmed that in their opinion, the vocals heard are that of Jacksons.
The most surprising part of the statement is the part where Weitzman admits to contacting Jason Malachi, the MJ soundalike we told you about, who confirmed he had no involvement in the making of ‘Breaking News’.
I’ve read the statement, I hear what they’re saying – I’m still not convinced. Like many of you, I grew up on Michael, became obsessed with him. I (WE) know his vocals and the voice on that record, I still do not believe is his. That’s just me though. Regardless of whether it is (fully aware I could be talking straight crack), this project will still not get my support. #straightbootleg.
It’s been a madness over here at PinBoard for the past couple 2 days, hence the silence (no posts). Apologies.
Lets get things kick started with that rigthness – it’s J. Cole featuring Wale, sampling Janelle Monae. Win. Win. Win. Listen and download below famalam – Cole’s mixtape Friday Night Lights drops tomorrow.
Last night Jessie J made her television debut on ‘Later with Jools Holland’ – she no longer needs any type of introduction, just watch and listen to her perform ‘Price Tag’.
Last night Tinie Tempah performed his latest smash hit single ‘Written in the Stars’ along side Eric Turner on Later with Jools Holland – peep the results up top.
Lmao. I have a horrible feeling I’m going to have that ‘boing’ in my head for a minute. This new track from comes off Breezy’s upcoming In My Zone 2 mixtape (November 26th). This is just uninspired R&B, it’s not to be taken too seriously (in my opinion). It’s off a mixtape, so imma ‘llow him for this. Boing though, really?
