Possibly one of my favourite songs of 2010…

This guys album is going to be fire. Don’t be mistaken. This track, like the other he’s dropped so far is straight crack. #PAUSE.  Too easy.

Bruno puts his heart out there on this tune, singing about a girl who he cared for but who’s feelings weren’t necessarily reciprocated. Love the theme, love the melody, his voice sounds ill. Yep.

Doo-Wops & Hooligans drops October 5th.

Never heard of FreeSol before, but I have just been informed that they are a Hip Hop/Rock band from Nashville, who have been signed to Justin Timberlake’s new record label. This track which features their label boss was produced by Timbaland.

I actually kinda like this. Timbo’s production is nice (granted, I am listening through shitty mac speakers right now), and I kinda like FreeSol’s vibe. JT takes care of things in a pretty standard way, but still cool.

‘All In You’ is Conya Doss’ 1st official single taken from her forthcoming album Blu Transition, which is schedule to drop on September 28th. Her return to the scene was marked by the buzz single ‘What We Gone Do’ which we posted and you loved. This new tune is a beautiful, soulful ballad which shows off Conya’s impeccable vocals.

I love this lady and cannot wait to hear the new album. Listen to and download ‘All In You’ via the bandcamp player below.

The 3 and final video from the recent free event by The Miguel Atwood-Ferguson Ensemble in L.A, backed by some of today’s best musicians, including Chris ‘Daddy’ Dave on drums and Stephen ‘Thudercat’ Bruner on bass, this time featuring Mr Aloe Blacc. Together they pay respect to Gang Starr legend Keith ‘Guru’ Elam, doing an arrangement of Gang Starr’s ‘Betrayal’, which initially featured Scarface.

You can also enjoy the audio of “Deliver the Word” via Miguel’s bandcamp.

…This event seemed pretty epic, the footage of Bilal & Flying Lotus that came from it was pretty special. This is no exception.

This next Diddy project is confusing the sh*t out of me for a variety of reasons. Guises (Dirty Money?), release dates (Last Train To Paris?) and musical direction to name but a hatrick.

This slow-roller starts off promising- dark, spacey, pumping. Disappointment comes in the form of Justin’s auto-pilot verse complete with a cringey bite of that Drake flow… crocodile (sorry I had to). Screw the lethargic features and hurry up with a follow-up to the seminal (and yes, I say seminal because ‘SexyBack’ and ‘My Love’ did arguably change the urban musical landscape in the mid-noughties) FutureSex/LoveSound already. Four years is a par and most commercial Rn’B is a load of bowl syndrome right now in need of ointment/revitalisation.

Excuse me for turning this into a rant about JT. But both him & Sean John individually need to figure out what they’re doing.

Jazmine Sullivan is looking hot on the front cover of her new, upcoming album Love Me Back. Sullivan’s second studio album drops November 2nd and is followed by it’s lead single ‘Holdin’ You Down (Goin’ In Circles)’ which I’m loving still.

I’m a bit late in posting this, apologies.

The good people over at We Plug Good Music have put together a rather dope compilation featuring 25 tracks spanning Soul, R&B and Hip Hop from up and coming UK/US/Nigerian artists.

Having previously heard a preview of the compilation, it’s great to finally see/hear the full project. You can listen and download the tape (for free) via their bandcamp player below. Think you’ll enjoy this…

Love, love, love this lady’s voice. Butter. This song is gorgeous, glad it got the video treatment. Avery’s latest (self-titled) album is out now – geddit if you haven’t already.

Forgive me, but if Mark Ronson is producing (or helping to produce) D’Angelo’s new album I am now, officially, worried. I understand this track is for Ronson’s new album Record Collection and maybe in context it ‘works’ – but as a stand alone and after waiting THIS long for new music from one of my musical messiahs – it pains me to say I’m disappointed.

I know it says D’Angelo is featured, but I can’t hear any trace of him? He sounds like a bootleg Cee-Lo here. Why does he sound like that? The track itself isn’t actually that bad, if it didn’t have D’Angelo attached, I may have liked it a lot more, but the fact that it does just means leaves me wanting a lot more.

Maybe I’m being a bit too harsh (am I???), but I really wanted a lot more from this. Grrrr.

Can’t let this moment pass without really understanding how far this guy has come. I started PinBoard in early 08, this guy was one of the first guys who agreed for me to interview him. Since then he’s dropped quality mixtapes, a weekly series of music (way before Kanye’s G.O.O.D Friday’s lol – remember when everyone jumped on his ‘Incredible’ joint?) and now, as he readies his newest tape and album – he’s doing the damn thing on BET?

Clap. For. Him.

Hmmm, not sure about this video. Lol.

You can’t be a regular PinBoard reader if you don’t know about Eric Lau. Scrap that, you can’t be a real music head if you don’t know about Eric Lau. I know, that sounds mad elitist, but this guy is the one. Super talented musician/producer and someone who has been producing consistently great music for a hot minute now.

He’s back with a new album called Makin’ Music, which drops via Kilawatt Music on September 27th, up top you can hear him talking about the making of the LP and below you can preview it via his bandcamp player.

About to press play on this now, so check it out as I do – will comment after…

Pleasant title chaps!…. New Lil Wayne featuring shopping bag Drizzy from his new EP    album ‘I Am Not A Human Being’. Sadly it is tagged, we will obviously hook you up when the tag-less version goes live.
