While we await for Chris Brown’s ‘epic’ new music video for ‘Matrix’, which will premiere on his website on September 27th, here goes the full, CDQ version of the track. I don’t hate this, could be a little harder, but it’s not Euro-pop-dance, so that makes it somewhat ok. I’m definitely intrigued to see the video, the preview looked pretty good.

New Weezy featuring Minaj off his forthcoming EP I Am Not a Human Being which drops October 5th. Minaj persists to sing hook, I don’t know why. Oh, it’s tagged too…

Explain to me how this fits alongside the rest of the camp material we’ve heard from Ne-Yo’s forthcoming ‘concept’ album?

Now this. This is a proper Rn’B joint- vintage sounding even, in Tricky Stewart’s late 90′s sounding production and the singers swagnificent delivery. It also happens to features a real emcee. Excellent. Progress Ne-Yo my lad, progress.

Depressingly it’s just a snippet right now yet we only post snippets when they’re stinkin’ hot. I’ll re-up this post with a fresh link for the full version when that imminently percolates out the internet’s crack.

Finally. After last years Kendrick Lamar EP mixtape, I always thought if there hadn’t been a Drake ‘So Far Gone’ earlier the same year more light would have shone on cats like Kendrick.

Flow, delivery, content, theme, sincerity, passion, intensity, LA’s Kendrick is a superior emcee, unique to the many thousands that clog the blogs. His production is so dope. Below is the video for the dark & delicious ‘P&P 1.5′, I’m pretty certain I can detect traces of Andre 3000′s ‘Vibrate’, possibly sampled.

Even from opener ‘The Heart’ on this brand new set ‘Overly Dedicated’ (also available via iTunes where you can head once you’re convinced the man deserves your patron support), you can just tell dude is of a different breed. Some beautiful beats on here too, you can tell he’s a refreshingly broad-minded rapper who knows his musical influences. I’m only a few tracks in, jump on this disc with me folks. I promise you this one is special.

Shamefully late to post this but it got trapped under a bunch of other e-mails. Forgive me blog disciples.

Production dutying Q-Tip’s pancake flipped Amerie’s ‘One Thing’ with a masterful, cold, sexy, swagged out reworking that only The Abstract could commit to your ear-drums right now. I’m floating off those dusty drums and understated, ethereal chords, harks back to some classic Tribe.

Consequence rides this one for of his upcoming Cons TV album. I believe the cuts on the hook are courtesy of Statik Selectah,

Love this joint. Vibin’.

P.S. Amerie is, was, and will always be a total fox.

As a prelude to his forthcoming book ‘Decoded’ (cover found after the jump) where Jigga breaks down his classic verses in relation to the life and times of he who is S. Carter, the video discusses the inspiration behind a recent leak ‘Most Kingz’, an old, unreleased vocal that Green Lantern dubplated for his Invasion mixtape.

An excerpt from Rolling Sound Magazine behind the book’s manifestation:

“…he talked about why he was reluctant to release the autobiographical work, even though it was completed several years ago. “It’s too much. For the book, I was interviewed, people close to me were interviewed. So I was learning a lot of things I didn’t know as a child,” Jay-Z told RS. “It’s not anything I haven’t said in the past, in songs. It’s just more detailed. A song is three minutes long. A book doesn’t have to rhyme, and it has no time limit, so you can say exactly how everything went.”

Jay-Z also admitted he was most affected by parts of Decoded that concerned his father, who abandoned the family when Jay-Z was 11. “It was still wrong, at the end of the day, but he did stick around at a time where it wasn’t particularly cool or popular,” Jay-Z said. “He married my mom at a time when guys were just leaving, and you’d never even meet your dad. So it made me ease up a little bit in how I felt about him.”

Ha. Wow. Who knew Bruno was such a rock star motherf***er? I don’t know what else to say. Maybe I laugh more at the mugshot than the unfortunate fact homeboy’s been skiing the white mountains. That’s a snowball smile if ever I saw one.

Bruno Mars reportedly had two and a half grams of coke on him when he was asked to empty his pockets for Hard Rock security after spending an inordinate amount of time in a hotel bathroom. Paris Hilton reportedly had almost a gram on her, lied to police about it and then changed her story in court, and still only ended up getting community service and a warning to be a good girl for a year.

What will the state of Nevada do with the popular but probably less-connected Bruno Mars, real name Peter Hernandez? Will charges be filed as they were in the case of Paris Hilton, or could he get out of coming back to Vegas to answer for the narcotics?

According to PopEater.com, Bruno Mars (arrested in Vegas on Sunday) told cops he had never touched coke before, and simply made a “foolish” decision that evening. He apparently has a November court date pending.

A former Arizona state prison employee, Sean T. of Tucson, thinks Mars will likely get off. “It would seem a bit unfair to convict one person of a felony and let the other cop to such a lenient plea. Powder is powder, coke is coke. He should get off easy, too, by that logic.”

All mockery aside though, I don’t think the public ever fully grasp the widespread usage of drugs in the music industry by their favourite , unsuspected artists. After all it’s a tempestuous lifestyle with grueling schedules & glamorous poisons. I still believe however the chap’s a golden songwriter, he knows how to make a fine, syrupy hit. Given he’s in the middle of a promo campaign for his debut album and singles, this is not a good look. Particularly when you’re on the mission to establish who you are as an artist and a person to the mainstream audience/media/world. Then again ironically he does currently have the number 1 selling single in the United States with ‘Just The Way You Are’. Will be interesting to see how he works his way around this fiasco.

Now this right here, is an individual who I certainly can rate as one of my favourite emcees/producers in the UK.

You wanna know about punchlines, concepts and bangin’ beats underpinning all that dexterity? Few can touch Loud (bar all the cats in his close-knit East London recording stable, Skillit, K-Nite 13, Chris Mentalist, Pyro, Black The Ripper, Iron Braydz- outrageous bunch).

He’s achieved a great feat over the last month or so successfully pumping out four EPs consecutively to fanfare across domestic blogs. Talk about dedication; modern day e-hustling, shottin’ discs out the back out of the cyber trunk. Respect.

Available are all four EPs for free download with the artwork for the very latest above.

The features line-up is crazy too. Hit the jump to acquire them all.

Akala drops the brand new video for his 2nd single ‘Yours and My Children’ taken from his insanely brilliant album DoubleThink. I could speak for days about that album, but instead I’ll point you to our review because it pretty much sums it all up. Quite easily one of the best Hip Hop albums of the year in my opinion.

‘Yours and My Children’ is out October 18th. The album DoubleThink is out now.

Brand newness from Miss Nicki Minaj, not sure if it’s going to appear on her new album Pink Friday or not. If I’m being honest, I hope it doesn’t. This is not good, watered down Hip-Pop, production is off and why is she singing (again)?

It’s funny, I was talking to homie Shan about this very album last night, saying that I think there’s a very, very big chance it’s going to be super sh*t. Minaj’s singles have been pretty terrible thus far, this included, I don’t understand where the Nicki on ‘Monster’ or ‘Bottoms Up’ is at? What’s with the faux R&B/pop sh*t? She’s a good emcee, why the heck is she singing?

Maybe she’s just a good feature artist. Sad times.

Update: Added the CDQ version to the download link. Stream remains the same.

Big shout to my homeboy Kieren Dickens AKA the Shapeshifting DELS who lends a beautiful verse (written about his sisters pregnancy) to this new version of Bonobo’s ‘Eyes Down’ Feat. Andreya Triana. His vocal style is so unique and brings his real laid back flow to this track which I think compliments it perfectly. This is only available on the Ninja Tunes xx album. Make sure you go cop that!! Big shout to DELS…making major moves right now. Make sure you go see him supporting MF DOOM!!! In October  @ The Brixton Academy. Shout to all my ATCN family!
