The limitlessly talented Cee-Lo Green made a surprise appearance at BBC 1xtra Live this weekend and performed his current cult (soon to be mainstream, I hope) smash ‘F*ck You’. The yoot in the crowd were clearly not ready, but I am – so come his October show, expect to see me and the PinBoard crew front row & centre, ya hear?

After the jump check Cee-Lo’s quick (and kinda funny) interview with Tim Westwood.

Happens to the best of them. While performing in Singapore, Mariah Carey took a little tumble on stage while singing ‘Make It Happen’.

…The upside, the recovered pretty well (with the humour) and more importantly she actually sounded pretty good, too.

P.s Not in a ‘bad-mind’ way, but is she preggers?

Stones Throw’s Aloe Blacc discusses his new album Good Things and how it differs from his first album Shine Through. He also talks about how the ‘I Need a Dollar’ became the theme song for ‘How To Make It In America’, along with some other things…

Oi, this might be my favourite G.O.O.D Friday tune, so far? Ok, Nicki’s verse on ‘Monster’ still kills it, but this is hard. They all come correct too, Hova’s verse is especially on point. While I’ve definitely been enjoying Ye’s G.O.O.D Friday’s, I can’t say I’ve loved any of the tracks that have dropped so far – that is, until now. This is hot.

Oh, word? That’s a dope cover, but hold on, isn’t it an N*E*R*D album cover? Where the other dudes? Ah wells, still fly.

…Jay Kay would be proud.

Ah Janelle. Our musical saviour and heroine.

Here she is performing a buckwild gig rendition of ‘Cold War’. Hair pins bussin’ at the follicles and all sorts.

Great stuff. The single is out Monday.

Guess there isn’t any bad blood between those two? Drizzy tells MTV that he’s recently recorded a track with his ‘former flame’ Rihanna, he also talks about his forthcoming tour and the reason we still haven’t seen the ‘Fancy’ video.

New Lab with Dev and Tinch, produced obviously by Lab. Beat goes all over the gaff. Some half-time crazy tings. I like that he tries to incorporate his underground influences where he can despite the slightly camp overture.

Been told it’s from a forthcoming mixtape, not confirmed this yet, watch this space.

This weekend I finally catch up some music, got so many things I need to listen to (most of which I will be sourcing from PinBoard, while I was away the crew posted so many gems), this album is on that list…

Yup. October 26th. Jazz Cafe, London.

To hear the freshly dropped, bang-a-thon ‘Album of the Year’ live? I’m extremely excited right now. You know we’ve been loving that over here, via this long arse post.

Oh wait, I’ve also been told Daru and AB will be joining him. Would that be Daru on drums and AB on hook duties? That’d be insane.

I haven’t seen any info about ticket availability + prices go up on the Jazz Cafe (Venue Phone: 020 7485 6834) website yet but keep those lids peeled.

According to Digital Spy:

Beyoncé is gearing up to release her new single in the next three weeks, according to the song’s producer.

The singer, who released nine singles from her third studio album I Am…Sasha Fierce, will reportedly release a brand new track before the end of the year.

Los Da Mystro, who is best known for his work with Chris Brown, posted on his Twitter page: “Listening to New B record Dream wrote…F**KING INSANE! WOw!! She About to Kill the game again! Had to Listen again!! Yall C in 3 weeks!”

Clarifying that he was referring to Beyoncé, he tweeted on her fan page: “All i can say i Ladies yall got anither Athem!! Is it a BIG record.”

On its imminent release, he noted: “That’s what they sayn now… But it is the music Business. could b sooner [or] lata.”

Producer Sean Garrett recently revealed that Beyoncé’s LP will have a “party” sound.

A “party” sound huh? Better be a good party (no David Guetta sounding fraff), smashed furniture, stimulant abuse, giant orgies, midgets in bow ties, the type of bangin’ ass PARTY. Plus she needs to bring that edge back (last glimmer of which was heard on ‘Diva’). All the other yawnsome middle-of-the-road music from ‘Sasha Fierce’ needs to go in the bin.

We’ll keep you updated if/when whatever drops, drops.

Shouts to Clara who tweeted the source.

I thought this was going to be pants (you have no idea how much underwear deposit I get sent each week that would have filled up the now deceased Channel U a few years ago, there’s as much bad UK underground as their is good- but that’s a given in any land). Then the beat dropped. Track’s kinda hard, with a soft, chewy, girly centre.

Dirty dubsteppy number with some house chords and Rn’B vocals. Good direction for UK underground ‘urban’ to move in, away from all that TopMan/Miss. Selfridge wearing funky house corn, some of which was okay, but a tad too mild in the mouth considering we are the nation that created Jungle, Drum n’ Bass and most importantly Garage/2Step.

Would like to hear more like this. Keep it butters.
