Ryan Murphy, creator of the smash hit show Glee has expressed a strong interest in doing a special Prince episode on the show. Recently speaking at the ‘Eat Pray Love’ premiere, Ryan said:

“I want to do something on Prince. I love Prince. I think he is just a genius, and I would love to feature him and his music on the show. Everything about him is dreamy and fantastic, and more than that, he meant a great deal to my life growing up. So I’m saying, ‘Prince, help me out’”.

…Obviously I think this would be awesome, but will Prince agree to it? I’m not sure, he’s crazy protective about his material. I can’t think of a better way to expose his music to a new generation though – it would be a very good look.

Let’s hope he agrees.

SHAD calls on Oddisee to officially remix his ‘Yaa I Get It’ track, originally taken off his TSOL album (out now). First off, the original is badd ass as is, so for Oddisee to be able to produce something that makes it even better is a true testament to his ability as a producer. This remix has a more soulful tone to it, an almost Motown feel – which despite being a contrast to how it was initially produced, works great with SHAD’s flow. Love that this gives it a new lease of life.

The homie from across the way Mar blesses us with a acoustic rendition of ‘Selfish’, originally recorded by Slum Village (featuring John Legend & KanYe West). Mar’s version has such a dope vibe to it – need him to put this out as an .mp3! Dude’s got an insanely soulful voice.

I plug it everytime I can but please, if you haven’t already, check his EP with Full Crate – cop that here.

As controversial as it may be ‘Why Don’t You Love Me’ is actually one of my favourite Beyonce tunes/videos. The way she quietly released it too – dope. Anyways – for those who are interested (not sure how many are, but hey) peep her choreographer coming up with the songs routine and at one point, dancing with the lady herself. And then, after the jump check Bey rehearsing the ‘Ego’ routine, even Mama Knowles makes an appearance.

Flying Lotus will be dropping a brand new EP entitled Pattern+Grid World on September 20th/21st via Warp Records. ‘Camera Day’ is the first single to drop from it – listen to it below. Liking this, it’s very different from his Cosmogramma album, which if I’m being honest I still haven’t fully got my dome around. This is more of a throwback to the earlier stuff he used to produce.

By far one of the dopest groups out there discuss their upcoming album, their Grammy nomination for ‘DayKeeper’ and more. October 12th is the day their new album drops – can’t come soon enough.

First of all, can we take a minute and just look at that picture? Yea…

Back to the ‘point’ – ‘Breaking Point’ is the first single off Keri Hilson’s forthcoming album No Boys Allowed (which I’m pretty sure is a very risky album title) which is schedule for a late 2010 release. The song was written by Hilson and produced by Timbaland, but unfortunately like the bulk of her work, fails to really ignite any excitement. This song gives nothing special – the melody is standard, the beat too. I’ve never been a fan of Keri’s music, and unfortunately this remains so for now.

Kelly Rowland’s brand new (UK) single ‘Forever and a Day’ premiered today on Radio 1, it follows Ms Rowland’s hit single ‘Commander’. As you guys know I’m not the biggest fan of dance music, but I can’t lie – I’m kinda feelin’ this one. I love that Kelly is singing her butt off on track – her vocals sound crazy. I think this will do great over here.

‘One Life’ is the third official single off Ne-Yo’s new album Libra Scale and was produced by Stargate. And with this song, the desoulification of R&B continues – I’m sorry. This isn’t me saying ‘Ne-Yo’ is sh*it, it’s actually me saying the complete opposite – he’s better than this. This dude has made some solid R&B cuts, he’s a great song writer (I truly believe one of best this generation has) and this is what he’s coming with? I will never be down with that Euro-synth sound.

Peep it up top.

Brand new track from J.Cole, produced by the man himself off his forthcoming debut album. Was meant to leak tomorrow with tags, but the good folks over at the sermons domain liberated the untagged version for our listening pleasure. Really looking forward to this album, been bumpin ‘Who Dat‘ & ‘Blow Up’ for weeks now. I like that he’s saying something too, you know?
