One of my favourite producers/artists, Slakah the Beatchild, just released this fresh 2 part EPK in which he discusses what he’s all about, the different aspects of his creativity, the orginin of his stage name and on working with artists like Drake, Tingsek, Justin Nozuka, Ayah and many more. Really enjoyed this. Great talent, brilliant music. Looking forward to part 2, coming soon.

Update: Part 2 now added, check that after the jump…

Singer Robin Thicke expresses his love for the French capital, explaining why it is his favourite city in the world.

…I’m a Londoner and obviously am slightly biased, but even I can’t lie, Paris has something quite special about it. Oh, and don’t get me started on the food! Biggup to all our Parisian readers!

Ne-Yo’s third single off of his new album Libra Scale, called ‘One in a Million’. The mid-tempo number sees a (welcomed) departure from his Euro-Pop sound and a return to his R&B roots. I really like this, liking the melody and the beat behind it. Can’t get a solid picture of this album, each song sounds very different.

Very, very excited about the new Foreign Exchange album. If it’s anything like Leave It All Behind, then I’ll be more than happy. The albums official artwork and tracklist were released today. The LP’s lead single ‘Maybe She’ll Dream of Me’ is a “playful, synth-driven Hip Hop groove, featuring a rapped verse from Phonte that evokes the bands Connected era, while the epic opener ‘The Last Fall’ finds Phonte singing some of his most cynical lyrics to date (“love is at worst an excuse/at best it’s a truce…”)”.

Authenticity drops October 12th. Cannot. Wait.

KanYe West just announced ‘G.O.O.D Fridays’ via twitter – as the tweets explain, this means he’ll be giving away a new track (from his ‘camp’) every Friday til’ Christmas. That’s a lot of music. Good to see this guy finally embrace social networking in this way.

I was listening to Faith Evans’ debut album last night, that sh*t was so hard. She could sing the phone book and I’d be happy. In this interview with Hip Hop Hollywood she discusses going independent, motherhood and her upcoming tour. I really hope things work our great for Faith, she deserves it. In terms of R&B – without question one of the best singers we got. Her material has, at times, been sub-par but here’s to hoping her new stuff is as good as it should be.

I honestly know nothing about this movie. I’ve seen it being discussed on a few blogs, but haven’t really paid much attention. Chris Brown’s action sequence (up top) looks pretty cool though, Breezy seems to be doing his thing on the big screen.

After watching this I checked out the trailer (peep it after the jump) and saw that it has quite a big cast – Idris Elba, Paul Walker, Chris Brown, T.I, Hayden Christiansen, Matt Dillon, Michael Ealy and for the fellas Zoe Saldana.

Actually doesn’t look terrible. But then I generally like shitty action movies anyways. Lol.

We introduced you about Tha Boogie last month when they dropped ‘I See You’ featuring their mentor Raphael Saadiq. Well, they’re back now with a brand new jam called ‘OK’ and I really, really like it!

I love their style, it’s different from what I’m hearing around at the moment. They’re very cool too, and not in that ‘hype-cool’ way, just…Cool. Clearly inspired by a variety of sounds, this is kinda soulful, kinda indie, kinda rock – definitely good. Love the vocals too. Listen and download to ‘OK’ below via the soundcloud player (click the downward facing arrow on the side of the player to download).

Up top can you peep an interview they did with TONE, which features an acoustic version of ‘OK’. Good stuff.

…Follow Tha Boogie on twitter, get to know em’ a little more.

My anticipation for J.Cole’s debut album is growing by the day. The leaks that have dropped so far have been so solid, they’ve been in constant rotation on my iTunes (grab them below). Check him out talking about the forthcoming album, his rise to fame and more in an interview with the NY Daily News.
