Oh, this is next. And I’m gutted I can’t listen to it properly right now. You can though!
The city of Los Angeles was blessed with a free concert from the Miguel Artwood-Ferguson Ensemble on July 23rd 2010. Recently known for his work on Mochilla’s “Suite for Ma Dukes” project, where he arranged and conducted music from the late, great J.Dilla for a full orchestra. Ferguson assembled an all-star cast of musicians and special guests featuring artists such as Flying Lotus, Aloe Blacc, Bilal, Stephen ‘Thudercat’ Bruner, Chris ‘Daddy’ Dane and many more for a special evening at the Grand Performance California Plaza.
The video up top and the download below is of an amazing arrangement from Miguel Atwood-Ferguson of Donny Hathaway’s CLASSIC ‘Someday We’ll All Be Free’ featuring Bilal on vocals. Yea – you read right – Bilal singing Donny Hathway with a full on Orchestra. Beyond.
Bilal’s range is something all together different. I can’t wait for the world to hear Airtight’s Revenge. It’s going to blow your mind. Get ready, world.
Download the track, for free, via the bandcamp player below.

Introduced you to this track yesterday – you guys loved it – now it’s time for the official video. As I said initially, this isn’t my favourite Dynamite tune, but that beat is grimey and when she goes in, she goes in. This shall be rinsed for a minute. It’s out August 30th – cop that.

Oh boy, oh boy…
KanYe West calls on Beyonce & Uncle Charlie Wilson on this new track off his forthcoming (as yet untitled) album. Produced by KanYe, No I.D & Lex Lugar – listen and download famalam.
…Ok, so on my third listen now and well, I’m not sure about this one. Hmmm, it’s cool but I think with the names attached (artists and producers) I was maybe expecting a little more? It’s not that bad, I think it’s more ‘me’ than the track lol.

Yesterday he gave us the behind the scenes, today it’s the trailer…
This movie looks so shiteous, it’s a joke. Lol. Good thing X-Tina can sing like a mofo, I tell you. If you didn’t know, ‘Something’s Gotta Hold Me’ (an Etta James cover) is off the soundtrack of Christina Aguilera’s new movie with Cher called Burlesque.
Two brand new videos from everyone’s favourite marmite artist – M.I.A. Check out ‘XXXO’ up top and below visuals for the bonus track off her latest album entitled ‘Illygirl.
I only just heard this (shouts to Zayns!), I see it’s been around for a few weeks but haven’t seen it around much.
Anyone who knows me knows I get overly hyped whenever a new Ms Dynamite track drops (especially if she’s emceeing), so you can imagine my surprise when I heard this yesterday through my Dre’s. Boi.
Bristol based producer Redlight brings out a rather different side to Ms. D, a side we haven’t really heard before. The beat is big, that basslline is stupid and when Dynamite goes in full throttle – it’s over. I can’t say love this as much as I do ‘Bad Gyal’, ‘Wile Out’ and of course the mighty ‘Sticky Boo’ – but believe this is going to get rinsed hard still. I need the CDQ version immediately – it’s released August 30th.
OKP just premiered Invincible + Waajeed’s video for ‘Detroit Summer’/'Emergance’ – something I’ve been waiting for for a minute. Shot in their native Detroit at the historic Allied Media Conference and United States Social Forum back in June, I love how it shows off the city. Their album will be dropping next year. Buy ‘Detroit Sumemer/’Emergance’ over at iTunes now.
We posted the official ‘Dereon’ promo video yesterday, I wouldn’t normally post fashion promo shots – who’s really look at the clothes here? I quite happily forget she’s promoting anything – she’s too much. For reals.
T.I talks to Gowhere Hip Hop about his new movie ‘Takers’ and about the challenges his character, Ghost, faces throughout the movie. He also talks about his recent studio sessions with KanYe West.
London’s Hip Hop community came out in full force last night as Jay Electronica took to the capital’s stage for the second time this year. Trading the Jazz Cafe for Cargo in East London, Electronica performed how he always does – with passion, fury and energy. Peep our snaps up top and below.

Following on from the massive success of ‘Pass Out’ and ‘Frisky’, man of the moment Tinie Tempah is back with a brand spanking new track. Thankfully ‘Written in the Stars’ sounds a little different from the first two (and not thankfully because there was anything wrong with the first two (they were big) but because diversity is key) this guy is definitely on his own vibe. He still reminds me of the UK KiD CuDi – take that as you will. I kinda like this, more power to him I say.
