Erm, hello? Who the f*ck knew this was coming? Mark Ronson (who’s monotone voice does my bloody head in) previewed a snippet of his new collaborative track featuring D’Angelo called ‘Glass Mountain House’ on Trevor Nelson’s radio show.
…While you can’t hear much because they talk all through it (understandably) and it’s actually a tiny clip – from what you can hear – it sounds a little…odd. They’ve used some type of electronic/robotic effect on his vocals which sounds pants. BUT I won’t write it off yet because really, we haven’t heard anything. The track comes off Ronson’s new album Record Collection which is out September 27th
Bilal sat down with Greenmont Park for a three part interview in which he discusses a wide range of topics including his childhood, his career from beginning to end, collaborating with the likes of J Dilla, Dr. Dre, Jay-Z & Beyonce and of course, the new upcoming album. Peep part 2 & 3 after the jump…
Last week we post up 2 separate videos featuring Phonte & Q-Tip talking about Bilal and his forthcoming LP Airtight’s Revenge. This week Dwele names Bilal as his ‘favourite vocalist’, he also states that it’s too ‘vain’ to be playing his own material in the bedroom, so he always turns to Bilal’s record to…Set the mood. Ha.
Two new videos from his new ‘concept’ album Libra Scale. Up top, check ‘Beautiful Monster’ and after the jump check (the much better) ‘Champagne Life’.
Love to this guy doing so well, we’ve been supporting Bruno Mars since day dot. ‘The Other Side’ comes off Mars’ new EP It’s Better If You Don’t Understand – which is out now.
Kano is readying the release of his 4th studio album Method to the Maadness, which is scheduled to drop August 30th. Featuring collaborations with Hot Chip, Chase & Status, Wiley, Damon Albarn, Diplo, Vybz Kartel and more, this LP is set to reaffirm Kano as one of the best emcee’s we got.
I know KA is getting his experimental hat on, which is cool, but I hope this album is as good as it sounds. We’ll know soon enough!

The Daily Mirror claims to have boosted it’s circulation by over 334,000 readers last Saturday as a result of Prince’s album giveaway. They’ve also said that sales of their Daily Record increased by 45,000.
Mark Hollinshead, managing directord or Trinity Mirror Nationals said the company was delighted and that the venture was ‘a successful sampling opportunity for both sides’.
While Prince’s new album 20Ten received mixed reviews, it’s undeniable he still has the pulling power to generate buzz and interest. And yea, the album is far from his best work, it definitely features some killer jams – the last track smacks it. The “Purple Yoda” line killed me.
FlyLo’s new album is out of this world. Literally, I have never heard anything like it anywhere. This guy is immense – too much. Love this tune and video.
