I’ve made no secret that musically, I’ve always found Ciara a little hit or miss. She’s always been a great performer and as a dancer, she’s phenomenal. I’ve also made no secret of my love for Ci-Ci’s new track ‘Ride’ – I actually think it’s one of the hottest R&B tracks around at the moment. I hope we get more of the same on her upcoming album Basic Instinct.
Anyways, as one would imagine with any racy song in 2010, a rather sexy video will accompany it. And without a doubt, Ciara’s new video is ‘sensual’ (as the R&B singer herself put it) but in no way is it the sexiest video I’ve/we’ve ever seen. So, the news that BET in the U.S had banned it was a bit of a shock to most (especially Ciara stans) – but now news comes to PinBoard (exclusively) that none of the UK music channels will play the video apart from MTV Base who have given it a 9pm watershed.
I believe it’s the ‘nipple shots’ on the bull *pause* and the part where Ciara pulls her pants down a little too low, that have caused the most offence. The label is cutting ‘clean’ edit of the video to start gaining more plays.
I find this rather interesting considering so many other videos which can be deemed ‘adult themed’ are played on MTV and other music channels in the day time with no mention of them being ‘inappropriate’ but that this video has been singled out. I think of Rihanna’s ‘Rude Boy’, or ‘Russian Roulette’, Lady GaGa’s ‘Telephone’, Beyonce’s ‘Video Phone’, Trey Songz ‘Neighbours Know My Name’ and countless others that failed to raise any major issues.. I know I am a little desensitised to music videosĀ nowadays and I myself do not have children around to worry about, but I do find it a little strange that this video is causing such a stir.
…What are you thoughts on this? Should this video be banned? Or do you think it’s a little uncalled for?

Only members of the illuminati can have their explicit videos played on TV (Lady Gaga, Rihanna, etc.) Ciara was offered a membership from Jay-Z, but she declined due to her Christian upbringing.
somewhere Matthew Knowles is laughing and continuing to pull his strings on his puppets….Ciara will shine, like it or not
Politics. Lady Gaga's Telephone is by far the most sexual ,violent and homo-erotic video I have ever seen but I see it on MTV all the time.Hypocrisy.
I have seen Ride on MTV Base and on Trace so I'm not too sure about your "sources" on this so called "ban".
Regardless, it's unfortunate that in 2010 big media corporations still want to censor and police music according to their own moral compass.
RCA, Ciara's record label, have re-tweeted my article – if this wasn't true, I'm sure they wouldn't have done so. http://twitter.com/RCALabelGroupuk/status/1484419…

I think this is ridicolous that Ride is getting banned from the UK too.
What about the Rude Boy video or all the other videos that contain sexuality? Is it because Ciara isnt as well known as the others?
I promise you that if this was a video by beyonce, Gaga or Rihanna it would get played on TV.
Poor Ciara! Discrimination!
Totally uncalled for.
FUCK ILLUMINATI
FUCK ADMINS
