The homie Melo-X just dropped the cover art and tracklist for his upcoming project Audio Foreplay. Firstly, the name is fu*king dope haha and secondly – I’m glad that come March 15th we’ll be getting some new material from this dude. This project consists of remixes and snippets from his forthcoming album Sonic Intercourse – which is – quite possibly the best album name ever. Melo is, without question, one of the most talented producer/emcee’s out there at the moment. Can’t wait.

Check the tracklist after the jump…

Peace, Love & Melo-X

Awesome. After the jump, check out the trailer for the movie, which I can’t wait to watch.

“Wavin’ Flag” is my favourite track off K’Naan’s Troubadour album, and now producer Bob Ezrin has called on other Canadian artists to come together and show their support and raise money for Haiti. Alongside K’Naan, this version of “Wavin’ Flag” features Drake, Kardinal Offishall, Justin Bieber, Avirl Lavigne, Jully Black, Sam Rovebers, Nikki Yanofsky and more.

A great idea and how it’s supposed to be done. Not that “We Are the World” sh*t. Purchase the song via iTunes.

Update: After the jump, check out K’NAAN’s new video for “Wavin’ Flag” (Celebration Mix). This version will be used this summer for Coca-Cola’s 2010 FIFA World Cup campaign in South Africa.

Quite the departure from the video below. Bonobo is incredible and his collaborations with one of my new musical obsessions Andreya Triana have blown me away. “Eyesdown” is a gorgeous representation of what they create together and this video is both powerful and reflective. Really nice.

NME are giving away a free Bonobo track titled “We Could Forever”, so head over there right now and get yours. “Black Sands”, the new album, is available for pre-order now.

It’s FINALLY here. Check out the much anticipated video from Lady GaGa & Beyonce…!

…First of all let me just congratulate Lady GaGa on bringing back true excitement for a music video. I truly applaud and respect what she’s accomplished. She has made this a real event.

Now, on to the video – it’s bloody incredble and well worth the wait. Anyone who says otherwise is fooling themselves. I’m not a massive GaGa fan, but I can’t deny this. It’s a a visual masterpiece that Michael Jackson would be proud of (in terms of the grandeur).

Lady GaGa kissing up that chick, Beyonce in her first Lesbian role – this video gives me everything. Everything I tell you! LOL! Honestly, taking everything in consideration (build up, collaborative effort, buzz, concept, costumes etc) I would go as far as saying that this is the best video of recent years. No joke. No hype. Lady GaGa went there and then-some. Madonna, retirement is well and truly calling.

Update: Just re-watched it – there’s some serrrrrrious product placement in this video – no wonder they had a massive budget Lol! GaGa x Dr.Dre headphones, Diet Coke, Virgin Mobile, Polaroid…

Peace, Love, Lady GaGa & Beyonce

The incredibly talented Vula just sent me a brand spanking new track from her new group DivaGeek called “Sunday”. DivaGeek consists of songstress Vula (the Diva) and super producer Ben Jones (the Geek) and “Sunday” is the first song they’re unleashing.

“This is my gospel song done in our weird electric soul way…There are times when I’m so thankful for the life” the Basement Jaxx singer says of the inspiration behind the new song. She also explains how producer Ben is not a Christian, so she wrote “Sunday” in a way that can be interpreted in other positive ways.

We can all expect a lot more from this duo – an album is on it’s way (via their DivaGeek Records), they’ll also be doing some gigs around town too. Excited much? Hell yes. This is a huge, actually makes me feel good! Love this right now!

Keep up with Vula via her twitter and facebook – tell her how much you love this tune and who sent ya!

Peace, Love & DivaGeek

Usher teams up with the newly freed T.I on a new track (ironically) called “Guilty”…

Download: Usher Feat T.I – “Guilty”

‘member when Usher used to drop big R&B tracks? Yea, seems like those days are gone. This track sucks, hard. It’s like Mr Raymond has nothing new to say. How many times are going to hear the same story? He’s fast become irrelevant, musically speaking of course. I’m still a fan of his, but I’ll always be real when it comes to the music – and this is not good. Not even T.I could save this one.

Peace, Love & Usher

Erm, Diggy aka Rev Runs kid, has some serious lyrics and flow. What? This has definitely taken me by surprise for sure – not simply because his Dad is Rev Run, but because he’s still real young. This is dope.

Just spotted this over at OKP – Miss Badu recently performed in Jamaica at the 14th annual Jazzfest. Check out some of her set, brining all kinds of soul, funk, hip hop and soul, performing songs like “Love of My Life”, “The Healer” and “Didn’t Cha Know”. Brings it each and every time.

Chris Brown took to his SayNow account (am I the only one who’s never heard of SayNow?) to appeal to his fans to request his music on radio stations in a bid to get back his once successful career. “…Right now I need all of my fans to help”, the singer pleaded, explaining that without proper support on radio he will no longer be “relevant”. The R&B singer then goes on to say, rather desperately, “I can’t be an underground mixtape artist. That’s where we are. I just want all my fans to help me. I love ya’ll”. Check out what he had to say…

I ain’t never really did this but right now I need all of my fans help. A lot of radio stations aren’t playing my records. They are not being that supportive and I wouldn’t expect them to. It’s on the fans and what you guys do in your power to bring me back. That’s all I need is you guys and nothing else will do that except for the fans.

I don’t know what else to say. It’s nothing else that I can do. I’m doing everything that I need to do. I’m doing me as a person and I’m a better guy.

It’s on ya’ll. My singing and my music I do it for you guys and everything else but it won’t be possible if I’m not relevant on the radio and it wouldn’t be possible for me to be an artist if I don’t have the support. I can’t be an underground mixtape artist. That’s where we are. I just want all my fans to help me. I love ya’ll. Peace

Listen to Chris Brown’s Message Here

Damn. You know what, out of all the big publicity driven TV shows Chris Brown has done, all the interviews etc – this is about the most real I’ve heard him be. Seriously. When ever I saw him on camera talking about ‘the situation’ and his life today, I always got a sense that he never really got what he did and how it affected so many people. I may be COMPLETELY wrong, but I always just felt he was still a little too immature to comprehend the consequences of his actions.

But during this, what, 2 minute ‘conversation’ – I really got the sense that he’s finally ‘getting it’. Now, many may say ‘yea, he’s getting it now because his career is on the line’ – and that might be true, but you know what, that’s a daunting thought. The guy is like 20 years old, he was once (not long ago) heralded as one of the savours of R&B/Pop, ‘the next Michael Jackson’ and now he’s realising that that future is pretty much ruined. I’ve never hidden how I feel about what Chris Brown did, but at the very same time – I’m fully aware that this is a young man who’s career is in ruins as a result of a (huge) mistake he made. And in no way is his age an excuse what he did, but sometimes it’s easy to forget how young he is.

I hope for his sake he can get back on track. Too many young stars have ended up down the wrong road after loosing their success, their money and fame (just today Corey Haim died of a suspected overdose). Chris Brown is undeniably talented and I guess, at some point, we all have to be able to a) forgive him and b) allow him to move on. Big statement to make, I know – believe me, that’s hard enough to write.

Peace, Love & Chris Brown

Kelly Rowland speaks about the risk she took recording “When Love Takes Over” and how that song has inspired her new (third) album, saying “I have found my niche”.

I enjoyed Kelly’s first two albums, I actually thought the last one was really good. BUT if she’s going down this euro-pop route throughout the new album, I won’t be wasting my time on it. Cannot stand that David Guetta track she’s on (admittedly, it did begin to grown on me, but that’s simply because it.was.everywhere). The fact is Kelly Rowland has an R&B voice, not a pop voice, not a dance voice – an R&B voice. And while I’m all for experimentation and pushing the boundaries – heading down the euro-pop route is, for me, easy and sellout.

Peace, Love & Kelly Rowland
