Good Lord! Brazil just got a lot hotter. Both Alicia Keys and Beyonce look stunning during the filming of their new video “Put It In a Love Song” – think I’m looking forward to this video more than the GaGa x Beyonce vid.

Also, big congrats to Alicia Keys for scoring her first number 1 album in the UK. Well overdue.

Peace, Love, Alicia & Beyonce

Er, I like this tune and I quite the album – but, sorry, Rhi-Rhi, have you heard of Janelle Monae? Is it just me, or does it seem like she’s channelling her quite heavily here?

Just as I began my third full listen of Sade’s sensational new album Solider of Love, this came through my inbox. Sade covers the latest issue of POP Magazine, but there’s an interesting story behind it…

The controversial artist Richard Prince, whose Spiritual America nude of a teenage Brooke Shields was recently withdrawn by the Metropolitan Police from the Tate gallery, has collaborated on the new issue of POP magazine. In looking to celebrate ‘Pop Women for 2010′, Richard Prince has produced a special tribute to Sade, who has just returned to the public arena after ten years with the “Soldier Of Love” single and album.

Prince has produced a beautiful hardback edition of POP with Sade on the cover that follows the format of his acclaimed Celebrity art series. Using eBay, Prince sourced a super rare, unique image of Sade from her first ever magazine photo shoot for The Face in 1984. The black and white photograph shows Sade with her hair worn down for almost the only time in a photo session. The New York-based artist then teamed this exclusive rare image with a handwritten note Sade had sent him that teasingly reads: “Richard, still my Cowboy, love Sade”. A trademark Prince Cowboy completes the stunning artwork for the POP cover.

Hit the jump to check another picture from the magazine. And get Solider of Love – it really is a stunning album. Her voice sounds strong as ever and the live instrumentation on it is just gorgeous. Welcome back.

Peace, Love & Sade

PinBoard was probably one of the first sites to report the news of this years Brainfeeder festival in LDN Town. So, I thought it was only right I posted up the official flyer for the event.

The lineup (as reported) is as follows: Flying Lotus, Kode9, The Gaslamp Killer, Martyn, Dorian Concept, Dimlite, Daedelus, Nosaj Thing and TOKiMONSTA. We also reported that Madlib would be on the line up too – well, my sources say we shouldn’t rule that out completely. You know how Madlib be.

Tickets are £10 – will let you know when they’re on sale.

The line up is ridiculous. We’ve been at Brainfeeder for the past two years, 2010 will no exception. However, I will say – I am disapointed that it’s not at it’s usual location in that East London car park venue. Hopefully there’ll be a summer one there.

Peace, Love & Brainfeeder

Alice Smith’s voice is like something else. Stunning, moving, emotional – it’s everything. The video above is of her performing a new track called “Fire” which comes off her upcoming album (release date tbc). It’s great to hear new material from her, it’s been a while since her debut For Lovers, Dreamers & Me.

Michael Jackson’s former doctor has denied a charge of involuntary manslaughter over the singer’s death, at a court in Los Angeles. Dr Conrad Murray was bailed for $75,000 (£48,000) after pleading not guilty to “unlawfully, and without malice, killing Michael Joseph Jackson”. A judge must decide whether to proceed to trial. A conviction could bring a jail term of up to four years.

His death was ruled as homicide, mainly caused by the anaesthetic Propofol. A cocktail of drugs – including sedatives Midazolam and Diazepam, the painkiller Lidocaine and the stimulant Ephedrine – were also detected in his body, a coroner confirmed. Prosecutors had filed one count of involuntary manslaughter. Dr Murray stood straight and spoke softly as he addressed the judge. After entering his plea, Dr Murray surrendered his passport. He was then taken to have his fingerprints and a mugshot processed. The bail of $75,000 was three times the standard figure for involuntary manslaughter but only a quarter of what prosecutors had asked for. [Source]

The next hearing has been set for 5 April.

This is going to be a long, long, long trial. Here’s to hoping that justice is served.

9th just dropped his latest mixtape 9th Invented the Remix…Again, which I didn’t even know was coming (does that make me late, or did this tape come out of the blue?). This guy is most definitely up there as one of my top producers, his soulful beats work errrytime. We don’t have a tracklist yet, but he says its coming – when it does, I’ll add it. But for now just know that 9th applies his magic to John Legend, Method Man, Nas, Common, Babyface to name a few…

Some of you will have heard Rahel’s soulful voice on tracks with Eric Lau, Georgia Anne Muldrew and Dudley Perkins. “Hope” is the result of her working with Mark De Clive-Lowe…
