We’ve featured Old Money a bunch of times on PinBoard before, but this really is totally different from anything we’ve heard from them previously and I can’t lie – on first listen I was like “what the?”. But actually, that tribal beat is kinda infectious. I think I’m diggin’ this – reminds me of something that would come out of London. “Mamaseh” was produced by Fonda of Team Facelift (Duck Down Records) and is available now via iTunes.

Been a fan of and have listening to Andreya Triana for a while now. She’s an amazing singer/songwriter from the UK, with a gorgeous soulful voice – I know you guys will dig her. ”Lost Where I Belong” is the first single from her debut album. The single is out April 5th and the album will follow in August (23rd).
Expect more of Andreya here on PinBoard in the coming weeks and months…!

This track Incorporates elements of Sonnymoon’s version of Drake’s song “Houstatlantavegas”, As well as Nite Jewels Song “What Did he Say“.
I’m always happy to hear Melo-X rework anything. His mind is in a different a dimension when it comes to this music game. Cannot wait to hear Audio Foreplay and then Sonic Intercourse – titles alone are dope.

Merriweather, who’s album Love & War has been out in the UK for a while now, is just about to have his State-side release via J Records. This is really cool and probably one of the best displays of ‘user generated’ content I’ve seen in a while. 57 singers from across the YouTube community have come together to record their own special rendition of “We Are the World”. Not only in response to the latest reworking, but also to continue raising awareness for Haiti. I think they did an amazing job – check it out…

She’s grindin’ and producing some of the most delicious soul music around at the moment. 2010 is going to be a massive year for her – trust me! “Float Away”, even in it’s unmastered state, blew me away. “Hmmmmm” I hear you all mumble – can’t lie, me too! Not 100% sure about this one. I’ve been listening to it for a week or so now and I’m still undecided. It’s definitely different from anything we’ve previously heard from Flying Lotus – but that’s what his new project, Cosmogramma, is all about - experimentation. I’m definitely leaning towards the ‘this is dope’ side though. Cosmogramma is out May 3rd in the UK and May 4th in the U.S.
Oh and don’t forget, LDN folks, you can catch Flying Lotus at this years Brainfeeder Festival on March 10th at Fabric. Tickets are on sale now, for more info go here.

BUG, a 24 year old Londoner (brap!), is an up-and-coming producer and songwriter. I’m really feelin’ this a lot – I like how both tracks are melodic and interesting. They don’t sound confusing or pretentious - and I can hear a lot of influences (that I can relate to). Definitely going to be keeping an ear out for this guy – you should too.

Heard about this movie and seen the trailer posted around, but didn’t really pay attention or watch it until just now. Not sure why people are calling this ‘the real Avatar’, because it’s seemingly a totally different movie – it looks great though! Love these big budget fantasy epics – so, yea defiintely gonna be catching this one when it’s released.
