According to Rolling Stone, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Smokey Robinson and Celine Dion will take part in a spectacular 3-D musical tribute to the late Michael Jackson at this years Grammy Awards. The Recording Academy will honour the King of Pop with a Lifetime Achievement Award and will be premiering previously unseen footage from his “This Is It” concerts that was filmed to accompany his performance of “Earth Song”.

“It was one of the most important portions of the concert tour to Michael, and when Michael saw the film for the first time at his last rehearsal, there were tears in his eyes,” Grammy co-executive producer and Jackson’s friend Ken Ehrlich said in a statement. The “Earth Song” footage, which expresses Jackson’s intense concern for the welfare of the planet, was shown in part in concert film This Is It, which is due out on DVD five days before the Grammy Awards, on January 26th. Jackson had big plans to bring 3-D to the concert experience, shooting a new “Thriller” video using the technology, as well.

This sounds incredible and, if done right, extremely fitting. We better get our 3-D glasses!

Rihanna covers the Bob Marley classic (and one of my favourite songs of all time) “Redemption Song” in aid of the recent Haiti earthquake. This is for a great cause, so I will refrain from commenting on how I feel on this rendition. Ya’ll know. Rihanna will perform the song on a special airing of the Oprah show about the devastation.

P.O.S dropped one of the best albums of ’09. Never Better, a perfect and unconventional blend of Hip Hop and Punk Rock was forward thinking and insanely impressive. I already know for many, the thought of anything heavily influenced by Punk Rock is a scary thought, but trust me – if you love Hip Hop, you’ll love this artist and this album. What he produces is unequivocally dope on both spectrums.

P.O.S sat down for an exclusive interview with us while he was in London Town for a gig last year; We discussed the complexities of growing up in two very different towns with the black and white racial equilibrium, the difficulties of identifying himself with a particular sub-culture, how his album Never Better is, at its core, a Hip Hop album, his thoughts on why mainstream Black America hasn’t overwhelmingly embraced indie rap, and much more.

This song has made me fall in love with Monica allllll over again. I’m being 100, “Everything To Me” is exactly the type of record Monica needed to come with. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it’s the best song to impact the charts, but reaslitically, these days – who pays attention to the charts? I’m saying for us Monica fans, the ones who’ve been waiting for her to come back to all her R&B glory – yesssir, that track is the one.
