Sneak peak of Usher’s new video for “Hey Daddy”.
How this dude is still going to release that album with the amounts of leaks he’s had this week is beyond me. Morover, I’m just not convinced this track will do what Usher needs it to do.
Peace, Love & Usher

I thought this was a very honest and candid interview and also, a very brave one. Celebrities often forget that being honest is firstly, the right thing and secondly, extremely endearing.
Fantasia has an incredible voice, can’t deny that, but musically she hasn’t really done anything for me. A couple tracks here and there have been alright, but still I think with (much) better material she could actually be pretty incredible. I still love hearing her rendition of “Summertime”.
Respect to Fantasia, glad she’s come back fighting.
Peace, Love & Fantasia

P.s That interviewer has the most boring voice. Damn.

This is one for those R&B heads. Can’t say I’m feelin’ this too tough, it just isn’t my cup of tea – but Keke has one hell of a voice and so, I’m open to her new stuff. Wyatt’s new album Who Knew? drops on February 23rd.

“Everything To Me” is repordedly Monica’s first single off her upcoming album Still Standing…

Aaaaaaaaand I love it. It’s funny, I was just speaking about Monica to a friend. I was saying how I’ve always wanted her to be a better artist than she has been for the past few years. Miss Thang is classic. The Boy Is Mine had some pretty good tracks – but since then? I’ve been grossly underwhelmed. However, it’s undeniable, this lady has one of the strongest voices in R&B and so, I hope her new material continues in this fashion. This song is laid back, mature, yet shows up her powerful chops brilliantly.
Peace, Love & Monica

P.s Don’t know why, but this reminds me of something Jennifer Hudson would sing?

This is (f*cking) awesome!
What an amazing way to start the new decade: a fresh instalment to the Keep Watch series with none other than the biggest DJ/Producers in the universe, The Crookers!! The mix starts out with sounds from Hudson Mohawke, Joker and Untold and finishes off with some war riddims courtesy of Kingdom and Alter Ego. Elaborating too much would be ruining this amazing mix. Just listen to it.
Tracklist after the jump. Turn this up and enjoy!

Tonight Alicia Keys and a whole hosts of friends (including the UK’s very own Marsha Ambrosius) will be performing at the legendary Apollo Theatre in New York City. If like us you can’t be there, don’t worry as it will be steaming LIVE over at BillboardLive. For us UK peoples, that means a rather late night (starts around 1.45am), but I ain’t complaining. Keys will be performing new tracks from her album The Element of Freedom, as well as some of her classics.
I’m gonna try posting the live stream video here, but if that fails – just go to the aforementioned site and enjoy.
Peace, Love & Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys & Beyonce recently got together and recorded “Put It In A Love Song” for Keys’ (incredible) new album The Element of Freedom – the big question is: will we see a video? Alicia says:
Are you gonna get your wish to see the video for “Put it in a Love Song” with Beyonce, I have to say it’s looking really likely, ‘cause we have to do that,’” Keys revealed. ”And we’ve already talked about where we want it to be. We’ve been toying with some ill locations. She’s an incredible lady and I absolutely consider her a friend. And we are going to totally, entirely blow your whole head backwards when we do that video.” [Source]
This needs to happen. Love the track and would love to see both these ladies in one video. It’s gotta be done.
Peace, Love, Alicia Keys & Beyonce

Check out Mariah trying to justify talking about her drunken acceptance speech the other night after winning an award for her role in “Precious”.
…To be fair, I don’t think MC has anything to apologise for or a need to justify anything. She’s a grown woman, who drank at an award show. Big deal, right? I still say I prefer her drunk than sober lol.
While we’re on the subject of Mariah Carey, after the jump you can see her accept the “Favourite R&B Artist” (what?!?!) at the People’s Choice Awards last night. I don’t think she was drunk, but can’t lie – she seemed a little…Off-ish? Moreover, I love that Nick found himself a job too (lol watch the clip).

This just landed in my inbox but I’m unsure if it’s official or unofficial – Mariah’s lead single off her Angels Advocate remix album…

Had to post this one up. The homeboy CJ Beatz killed it with this mix.
UK folks in particular are gonna love this – but international readers, download and enjoy what we’ve been raving to for the past 10 years. The last decade has produced some massive, massive tunes and trust me when I say, the important ones are in this mix. I’m talking Artful Dodger (“Rewind”), Mis-Teeq (“Why”), The Streets (“Has It Come To This”), So Solid (“21 Seconds” / “They Don’t Know”), Ms Dynamite (“Put Him Out”), Dizzee (“Fix Up Look Sharp”), Roots Manuva, Amy Winehouse, Estelle, Wiley and tons more.
The thing about this mix, it makes you crazy feel old. Lol. The first part of the last decade killed it. The second half was cool too – but that’s when I had to grow up init. Haha!

Oh man, I miss Destiny’s Child! There has yet to be an R&B girl group as good as them since they broke up. I like this track – a lot. I don’t love it – it’s clearly not one of the best efforts, their vocals aren’t even that hot, really. But it’s just great to hear ‘new’ music from the them generally. Kinda reminds me a little of “Naughty Girl”?

Massive congrats to the homie Theophilus London who was picked as ‘NME’s Number 1 Artist To Watch in 2010′.
That’s huge, but definitely no surprise. We’ve been supporting Theo since we first started PinBoard (and was one of the first UK blogs to do so). We interviewed him way back in 08 and have plugged (and riiiiinsed) his This Charming Mixtape project with good reason – it’s dope.
Now we’re in 2010 – we need new music. Let’s hope we hear something soon! But for now – congrats again!
Peace, Love & Theophilus London
