Stevie Wonder broke in to tears as he performed a tribute to Michael Jackson at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s 25th Anniversary yesterday. Performing along side John Legend, Stevie sang the MJ classic “The Way You Make Me Feel”. While clearly emotional throughout the entire song, at one point, he had to stop as his emotions got the better of him. However, always the consummate performer, he soldiered through and delivered a moving, soulful rendition of one of the greatest songs ever written.

Wow. That was actually quite difficult to watch. I’ve said it many, many times before, my all time top 3 artists are Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Prince. So to see Stevie that emotional while honouring Michael Jackson is crazy to me.

You have to remember, these guys were not only collaborators, and fellow musicians, but also real friends. Both signed to Motown in the 60′s as kids, they practically grew up together. So it’s not hard to imagine how difficult that performance was for Mr Wonder(ful).

Peace, Love & Stevie Wonder

P.s Michael Jackson released Thriller exactly 27 years ago today. Damn.
