Unsure if this is a new track that will be appearing on The Game’s forthcoming album The R.E.D or whether it’s just an unreleased/buzz track – either way, it’s that new-new…
It’s being reported that Rihanna will also be doing a sit down interview with Diane Sawyer, which will mark her first interview since the ‘incident’ with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. Can’t wait to hear her side of the story, I actually commend her for staying so silent about it.
We await the video for “Russian Roulette” and of course, that new album Rated R.
Dudes love the show runs deep huh? Haha! I can’t lie, I’ve watched every episode of “Lost” and like many, I often question myself about doing so. It’s a shit/great show.
A new Ryan Leslie track just surfaced on the TinterNets. The track, taken from his upcoming album Transition is called “I Choose You” and shows a more subdued Leslie…
It’s a nice song actually. While I can’t argue that Ryan Leslie is one of the most talented musician/producers we have, I’ve always questioned his vocal ability. I guess it comes down to a preference thing in the end and while I still don’t love his voice – on this track he sounds real cool. It’s clearly a heartfelt track, one which I think will fit in nicely on an album. I’m looking forward to the new album still.
Mariah Carey performed a special ‘Stripped’ set for Power 105/1 in NYC last week. She performed some a couple classic tracks, as well as a few new ones. Check her out singing “Always Be My Baby”, “We Belong Together” and “H.A.T.E.U”…
Now see, this is cool. Mariah Carey singing the songs that made her the superstar she is today. Hearing her sing “Always Be My Baby” was so refreshing. Now I know the stans/lambs out there will aggressively disagree but you cannot tell me songs like “H.A.T.E.U” stand up next to those songs of the 90′s/early 00′s. They just don’t. Forget that it’s ‘Mariah’ for a minute and just listen to the songs.
Either way, great performances all round – was very impressed!
Here is another joint from the upcoming Exile “Radio” Remix project coming in 2010, featuring a host of MCs and producers remixing the entire Exile “Radio” album that was released early 2009.
Much love to the homie Amelia over at PMOI for ‘putting me on’ this because like her, I totally missed it. Björk is, without question, one of the most incredible and creative artists out there (I pray, one day, she and Badu collaborate!). Her videos are beyond anything I can ever get my head around and this one is no exception. The video for “Innocence” was put forward by Björk as a competition to her fans where by the best concept wins and the video made.
…Judging by the winning clip, it must have been a tough competition because, yet again, she drops another mind-boggling piece of art! Check out the other entrants here.
If you’re never really paid attention to Björk, I really recommend you do so. Her albums are superb and her latest Volta from where this track comes off – is no exception.
Fashawn’s new album Boy Meets World is out now. I implore you all to buy that quality music right NOW. If you need anymore persuasion download the track below and tell me you don’t think it’s dope. If you do (I know you will), seriously, get the album and support great artists and great music.
The director, Rik Cordero said this “I remember showing the original version of this video to Puff during a studio session and he was like ‘Who is that kid, I want to meet him now!’ After that moment it was pretty clear that Jared would get a shot and not only would he get a shot but his calling card to the labels would be in the form of a music video presentation. I’m not sure if that’s ever happened before but I do feel good knowing that a video that was driven purely by artistic passion lead to a very gifted kid realizing his dreams.”
Rihanna just premiered her brand new single on the radio (worldwide) and on her site. Click the image above to go listen to it. I anticipate the song will find itself online and in my inbox shortly, soon as it does, you know we’ll have it right here. As promised, download Rihanna’s brand new single below…
I bloody love it! Can’t help but dig a moody ballad. I anticipate a lot of people not liking this and expecting a big banger – I give it a week. Ya’ll will love it soon enough. Also, it’s been revealed that RhiRhi’s new album will be titled Rated R.
A bunch of people sent this to me today, but I didn’t have time to check it out. I just did and to be honest, I don’t really know what to say about it. I don’t think I’m in the right head space for such modern artistic expression. Therefore I will not try and decipher what it is KanYe is trying to say or portray (I’m sure there is some deep, conscious message here lol). Either way, I’m sure tons of folks will love this and I’m equally sure tons will detest it. Ah, such is art I guess.
Alicia Keys’ new video for “Doesn’t Mean Anything” has finally dropped. We were promised it a few days back, but hey, better late than never, right? The track comes off Keys’ upcoming album The Element of Freedom.
Also, after the jump, check an interview Alicia did with CNN where she talks about her humanitarian work with the Keep a Child Alive charity.
