Bashy is, without question, one of the hardest working artists we have over here in the UK. This guy is consistently grinding and never fails to impress. Creative, innovative, passionate – whatever you want to call him, for an independent artist, to have achieved what he has, is no easy feat.
The trailer to this video is yet another example of why I’m such a fan of his.

While inside sources tell us that they haven’t turned the album in yet, The Roots’ How I Got Over has a November 17th street date. They did, however, already shoot a video for the first single and title track “How I Got Over” with BBGUN. Here’s a teaser. We’ll release the full video tonight or Thursday. The Roots are busy preparing for tonight’s VH1 Hip Hop Honors where Black Thought and a certain rapper from Detroit will open the show with a tribute to LL Cool J’s classic “Rock The Bells.” This year’s HHH celebrates Def Jam’s 25 year anniversary. – shamz [Okayplayer]

SONY MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT TO RELEASE TWO DISC ALBUM WITH MUSIC INSPIRED BY THE SONY PICTURES FILM MICHAEL JACKSON’S THIS IS IT ON OCTOBER 26TH/27TH
On October 12th, the first new Michael Jackson song to emerge since the world mourned the loss of this musical icon will be released – a brand new single entitled “This Is It.” Soon after, Sony Music Entertainment’s Columbia/Epic Label Group will release the two-disc album This Is It featuring the music that inspired Sony Pictures’ forthcoming film MICHAEL JACKSON’S THIS IS IT. This two-disc album will be available internationally on October 26th and North America on October 27th to coincide with the worldwide release of the motion picture which arrives in theaters on October 28th and runs for a limited two-week engagement. “This song only defines, once again, what the world already knows – that Michael is one of God’s greatest gifts,” comments John McClain, co-producer of the album. MOBO have just announced that Keri Hilson will be performing at the MOBO Awards 2009 in Glasgow!
This year, the UK line up is stronger than it ever has been with Tinchy Stryder, N-Dubz, Chipmunk, JLS and Ironik all performing live on the night. Keri is the first American performer to be announced ( know such news is going to send stans around the world crazy!). However, I am told that this is not the only US act performing and more will be revealed in the coming days.
All this and a special Michael Jackson tribute performed by various artists, including Jermaine Jackson, surprise acts and Britian’s Got Talent stars Diversity and Flawless.
The MOBO Awards 2009 will be held at the SECC, Glasgow on September 30th. The show will be aired live on BBC3 at 9pm and repeated the following Friday on BBC1 at 10.30pm. Head to MOBO.com for more information on line up, travel and accommodation advice and to buy tickets!
