fear-450x581

This track dropped last night. I was out celebrating a homie’s birthday (Happy Birthday P!) – but have a listen. It’s the only new track off Drake’s re-release of So Far Gone (which is available Sept 15th via iTunes)…

Drake – “Fear”

All them people who say Drake is just a fad – sit down. This joint is dope as hell. Big. “I never cried when Pac died, probably will when Hov does”.

Peace, Love & Drake

Brand new (CDQ) leak off CuDi’s Man on the Moon: End of Day album…

KiD CuDi – “Soundtrack 2 My Life”

You know what, I like this a lot. I began to think that this album was going to be kinda swag, but I’m liking the feel of this jam. Who knew? It’s not the dopest song I’ve ever heard, but still – I like it.

KiD Cudi x PinBoard interview soon come!

Semtex just sent me an email saying:

Kid Cudi and Plain Pat passed through my show tonight, and hooked me up with 3 tracks from Cudi’s debut album, ‘Man On the Moon’. We played ‘Pursuit of Happiness’, ‘Enter Galactic’, and ‘Sky Might Fall’. Tonight’s show was a lot fun, Cudi talked about EVERYTHING! Working with Drake, those Eminem rumours, Wale/Twitter, and Cudi dropped a sick of the dome freestyle Listen back to the interview here or check out [download] the radio rips: “Enter Galactic” / “Pursuit of Happiness

Sound like I’m repeating myself, but PinBoard also caught up with Mr Man on the Moon this week. The video interview will be dropping right here on PBB shortly, but hear me when I say: It’s f*cking incredible! I’m super excited about this one and since we spoke with him, for the first time (pretty much), I’ve been excited about the pending album. Damn.

Writer, producer, singer…one thing’s for sure, Mr Leslie’s not short of things to put on his CV.  We sat down with the man behind, and in front of, the music to talk about his critical & commercial frustrations, getting older and…Cassie.

Part 1

Randomly trawling through YouTube is always great, especially when you find stuff you never new existed.

I just found this tonight and thought it was hella interesting. I’ve never heard of this, let alone knew it was out there on the Internets.

In this 5 part document, compiled and narrated by Larry Nemer (sp?), who was a part of Jackson’s defence team (as a documentary film maker and legal video specialist) during his molestation trail in 2002. The documentary is made up of Nemar’s own personal footage shot during his time at Neverland, footage (and out takes) from the infamous Bashir documentary as well as footage taken by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff department during their raids of Neverland. It also includes never-before-seen footage of the accuser talking to investigators and interviews with jurors.

Above all however, this documentary delves deep into the inaccuracies of the trail as a whole, the accusing family and their blatant lack of creditability, the way in which Michael’s generosity was abused and generally the way the trial, from all angles, was exploited.

…It’s a fascinating documentary which, for me, just further confirms what I (and most people) already knew. Michael Jackson was an innocent man. And if guilty of anything, it was of making bad judgements and processing a “childlike innocence”.

Make sure you watch the other 4 parts!

Peace, Love & Michael Jackson

jayz-oprah-on-grandmas-stoop-450x337

Oprah.com just posted an excerpt of the Jay-Z interview they did for O Magazine. Check Jay-Z chatting about his days as a drug dealer, being shot at three times and his marriage to Ms Knowles.

At 13 he was selling crack. By 30 he was a hip-hop legend—having gone, in his words, “from grams to Grammys.” Now Jay-Z charts his escape from the hard-knock life, describes the reunion that healed the wounds of his childhood—and even reveals the standing Sunday date he has with what’s her name.

The complete interview will be available in the October 2009 issue of O, The Oprah Magazine, on newsstands September 15th. Get a first look right here.

Oprah: So tell me how you got into the drug dealing.

Jay-Z: It was natural.…

Oprah: Because drug dealers were your role models. There wasn’t a teacher or a lawyer or a nurse or a doctor or an accountant in the neighborhood?

Jay-Z: Well, we were living in Marcy by then, so, no. And if anyone did become something like that, they moved out. They never came back to share the wisdom of how they made it. If anyone made it, you never knew it. That’s why I’ve always said that if I became successful, I’d come back here, grab somebody, and show him how it can be done.

Oprah: So by the time you were 13, this was a way of life. Did the lifestyle frighten you?

Jay-Z: No. It was normal. And at some point, you become addicted to the feeling. The uncertainty and adrenaline and danger of that lifestyle.

Oprah: This is where we differ. This is where we differ. Because I’d be very scared! Weren’t you shot at three times—within six feet—and you lived to talk about it?
