I’m mad excited about pressing play on this one. Shawn Chrystopher has been dropping some serious heat for some time now. I’m a massive fan of this dudes and we’ve been leading up to this point for a while. Download it and lets do this.

Footage of Michael Jackson performing during his “This Is It” rehearsals will be made into a film and is expected to hit cinema screens, across the world, on October 28th 2009. This comes just after a Los Angeles Superior Court judge approved the sale of the concert’s rehearsal footage by Jackson’s estate and promote AEG Live to Sony Pictures Entertainment. Sony, reportedly paid upwards of $60 million for the footage. The Jackson estate will receive 90% of the proceeds leaving AEG profiting from the remaining 10%.
The film is a chance to “to give audiences the gift of his final performances,” said Michael Lynton, chairman and chief executive officer of Sony Pictures Entertainment…I know this film will serve as further proof that Michael Jackson is one of the greatest entertainers who ever graced a stage.”
The footage the world will see was mainly shot in June, as Michael was preparing for the series of 50 concerts planned for London before his sudden death. CEO of AEG Randy Phillips confirmed that the company spent $15 million filming 130 hours of footage of Jackson’s rehearsals, including three songs in 3D! He described the footage as “Michael’s last masterpiece,”
…Wow. I mean, wow. Of course, I’m naturally excited about seeing this movie and believe it’s the right thing for all parties to do. But when ever I think of these dates, especially as the date I was meant to see him approaches (17th Aug), I just feel sad. Just a quick reminder of what could have been, I guess. But yes, this is a great move for all involved. His family, AEG and of course us fans.
Especially cool, as October 28th is my bornday!

So the time has finally come for the rest of the world to hear the project that Woody and I have been working so hard on since April. I can’t lie it’s kinda bittersweet for it to be gaining the attention that is has over the past weeks since Mike’s untimely passing. Honestly we set out to create an incredible project that would pay homage to Michael Jackson’s musical legacy not his life as a whole. No one song or project could ever achieve that lofty goal.
Woody and I set out months ago to rework one of the most important transitional albums in the history of popular music as we know it. The album that catapulted Michael Jackson to Thriller proportions and left us unforgettable songs like “Rock With You,” “Off The Wall,” “Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough,” “Girlfriend” and “She’s Outta My Life.” We turned those songs into “Just Feel It,” “Life Like This,” “Don’t Stop” and “Girlfriend” (but with a different spin). Michael has inspired countless entertainers across genres and Woody and I are no different that than many other members of our generation that grew up with one glove trying to moonwalk across our living rooms.
I sincerely hope hat no one takes our project as an attempt to capitalize off of the death of a King. This project means way too much to me for it to ever be misunderstood. In the wake of the 30th Anniversary of Off The Wall it is with the utmost respect and reverence that we proudly present you the product of our labor for the past months. We hope that you enjoy the experience of listening to it as much as we enjoyed the experience of creating it.
