This Jade track has really grown on me. Chipmunk goes in on the (unofficial) remix…

What you think? Chipmunk continues to do his thing. Jade meanwhile is hotly tipped as the ‘next big thing’ – she’s definitely got the chops for it!

Here goes another unreleased I Am…Sasha Fierce track, which will be appearing on the upcoming Tapemasters Inc mixtape.

Beyonce – “Slow Love”

It’s another ‘eh’ track. To be real, as much as I’m a fan of this ladies, all these pop-ballad tracks she seems to navigating towards recently bore the hell out me. No surprise this didn’t make the album.

usher

Whenever this dude readies an album, there are a stupid amount of leaks. Dunno what that’s about, but here’s another one…

Usher – “Be”

Eh, I don’t hate it. It’s a nice slow jam, I guess. I ain’t jumping around like I was on his past two leaks (here & here). His vocals sound dope, can’t lie. And, is it just me or does this sound like something MJ would have sang?

Wale – “My Sweetie”

PinBoard is interviewing Wale tomorrow afternoon, we’re looking forward to it. We weren’t meant to catch up with him a while back, but unfortunately it didn’t happen. This time it’s 100% happening, we’re interviewing the man in the flesh.

Keep it locked. We got a whole heap of interviews coming in the next week or two. It’s poppin’ baby.

leona-3

We heard a while back that these two were to work together on Leona’s new album and here it is. It sounds unmastered, but you get a good sense of what the track is about…

Leona Lewis Feat Justin Timberlake – “Don’t Let Me Down”

Sounds nothing like what I expected from these two. In fact, I was expecting some next level Timbo produced big banger. This is most certainly not that. Actually, not sure who produced it (hey, it may be Timbaland) The track is produced by Justin & Timbaland, and even though it’s not what I was wanting from this collabo – I don’t hate it. It’s actually a nice mid-tempo number. I don’t see much potential on the charts, but a good album cut. I await the final version. Leona sounds lovely as usual and JT doesn’t feature as heavily as I anticipated.

Focusing on the album though – I really pray they do not go down the same, tired, ballad road they did on her debut. We need to hear Leona is a different light now. Otherwise, we will bore.

What do YOU think?

Peace, Love & Leona Lewis

Took a little journey down to Trafalgar Square yesterday afternoon to see some of the worlds finest freerunners do their thing on a specially built stage in the heart of our sunny capital. Like a disturbing number of events I seem to go to these days it was hosted by Dave Berry. Usually not a big fan, but this time he had his moments.

For those that don’t knows freerunning involves moving smoothly round urban obstacles – jumping off gaps, running along bars and generally risking life and limb – but with more of an emphasis on tricks than the otherwise similar ‘Parkour’. The event featured 25 competitors from around the world including three lads repping for the UK. Each guy had a minute to make his way round to a song of his choice, flipping and rolling off whatever obstacles took his fancy. Some of it was crazy, but unless you try this stuff yourself, its hard to understand how difficult it is. I definitely began to suffer from flip fatigue as the day went on because they made it look too easy, but there were a few guys who really blew me away.

The rounds were broken up by some other performances. Soul Mavericks are a dope London bboy crew but they struggled to keep the crowd interested over a set time that was far too long. BGT winners Diversity did their thing, including their winning routine, which was pretty impressive in the flesh. Highlight for me was beatboxer The Petebox, who absolutely smashed it using a sampler to loop his way to a beatbox version of “Wheres Your Head At?”, which had the crowd hype just in time for the live feed on BBC 3.

GetAttachment2
The eventual winner was a homegrown lad, Tim ‘Livewire’ Shieff – a result which massively pleased the 7,500 strong crowd. I have a sneaky suspicion the american dude who came in second should’ve taken it but what do i know? Plus i’ve been a fan of Livewire since I first began checking out his ridiculously dope YouTub videos – so I was pretty happy myself.

All in all a good day, and nice to see central London used for such a creative event

Chris Brown

Here goes some brand new Chris Brown. The uptempo “Don’t Know What It Is” is produced by Scott Storch, where as the ballad “Changed Man” is, erm, well – you know what that one is…

Chris Brown – “Don’t Know What It Is” / “Changed”

What you saying? You guys know how I feel about this guy, but it cannot be denied – he’s a talented dude. He’s got a great voice and dance like a mofo. I really don’t hate these tracks. Damn.
