…Maxwell going number 1 has somewhat restored my faith in music a little. Dope soul music being appreciated, good times.

I’ve been waiting for Teyana to come out with something crazy, leftfield and funky for a minute now. I remember she was one of our first “one to watch” features back in the day. Nothing really came though? “Colour Me Pink” is the latest track from her side to leak…
Teyana Taylor – “Colour Me Pink”
I mean, it’s ‘nice’. Nothing that special though, right? Her voice is nice, I like her tone and her general style, but yea – I got higher hopes than this. Hopefully she brings something harder soon.
Peace, Love & Teyana Taylor

The homie ESSO comes through with the latest cut off his upcoming Off The Wall project, here’s what he has to say about it…
Less than 3 weeks away from the official release of Off The Wall, this is one of my favorite songs from the project and probably the one that bothered me the most to listen to after Mike passed because of how much I love the original and how crazy it was for me to hear our voices together on the record… Based on a true story, the names have been withheld to protect the innocent (and the guilty haha)
ESSO – “Off The Wall”
You all know we’re big supporters of this guy – ESSO continues to bring something new and fresh to the game. He goes in on this jam haha. It’s nice hearing a new spin on a classic MJ track. Very cool.
Peace, Love & ESSO

Here is a song we recorded over a year ago in LA at HOB Studios. This was a dream come true for me, to record a song with one of the most prolific artists in all of music. Busta Rhymes told me that he is our crown jewel, and I would have to agree. It’s an honor to work with some of the pioneers and true greats in hiphop and to live out my dreams. Although the song didn’t make the final cut, I had a chance to produce Nas and collaborate with him in the studio. I coached him thru some of his vocals and we conceptualized the song. A truly incredible experience.
This song is featuring Danny Keys on the hook. – DJ Khalil
NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!!

Jay-Z is in LDN Town. I live in LDN Town. Our paths have not yet crossed (although they kinda, almost did, kiiiiinda, but not lol). Anyways, he’s doing some promo while hand delivering Blueprint 3 to his label (Atantic), today he appeared Zane Lowe’s (yawn) BBC Radio One show to talk all thinks BP3. Check it out (this is good for our non-UK readers too).
Update: You can now download Jay’s interview with Tim Westwood too. Check that shizzle out right hurr! < Haven’t heard it yet, but I hear he talks on Chris Brown, spits a couple bars from the new single and some other thangs…
…It’s uploaded pon the iPhone for the journey into work. Yup.
Peace, Love & Jay-Z

This is the first episode of Melo-X’s new ‘reality TV show’ – no bullsh*t, just him on tour, speaking his mind etc. It looks real, real dope and is hella funny! Can’t mess with Melo, he’s just a real down to Earth, crazy talented dude. What more can I say?
Hurry back to LDN Town homie.

True story: today I say a big man, smoking weed, singing “Birthday Sex”. This kid clearly is a “star everywhere” haha! As I’ve said, his debut single is undoubtedly big. I still ain’t bored of it, however I’m always eager to see new artists follow that up – too many have failed to impress second time round (the list is endless, really). But this tune sounds good.

Ok, this is getting crazy now, 4th R&B tune in a row? Aiight, let’s just keep it rolling. Brand new Teedra Moses…
Teedra Moses – “Everybody Rock”
At the risk of sounding like a Parrot, I’m not really the biggest Teedra Moses fan. I mean, don’t get me wront Complex Simplicity had some real nice cuts on there, but I wouldn’t call myself a fan per-say. But this song is kinda nice, I don’t love it, but I like the groove, the mellow beat and she sounds real nice too. All round good stuff (again).
Peace, Love & Teedra Moses

“Let Me Know” is Monica’s first official single off her upcoming new album Still Standing. It’s produced (and features) Missy Elliott & was written by label mate Jazmine Sullivan. Check it out (excuse the minimal tags)…
Monica Feat Missy Elliott – “Let Me Know”
I must be in some next R&B mood tonight, 3 posts back to back? And I’m feelin’ them all? These R&B chicks must be stepping their game up because I really like this tune! I think Monica sounds great (she always does, to be fair), the tune is really well suited to her voice – Sullivan did good. I must say though, I think it could have benefited a lot more without Missy? Sometime her ‘shouting’ isn’t necessary, especially on mid-tempo/ballads like this. But yes, here’s to hoping the rest of Monica’s album sounds like this.
Peace, Love & Monica
