Beyonce not only covers Forbes Magazine, but also comes in at #4 on their ‘Forbes Celebrity 100 list’ (Angelina Jolie came in at #1) with estimated earnings in excess of $87 million within the last year. Bey’s album sales & tour earnings naturally helped her bank account greatly, but it was the various endorsement deals with Nintendo, L’Oreal, Giorgio Armani, Samantha Thavasa and others. Whats more, the Grammy award winner came considerably higher on the list than her husband Jay-Z, who sites at number 32. Damn. I doubt Jay’s worried though haha!

I’ll be catching Beyonce at the 02 on Tuesday (9th)! So, overly excited! Only seen her as part of Destiny’s Child (which was dope) and ya’ll know how much I love this lady. So yea check back for a review and pictures on Weds!

PinBoard is proud to be a little different, a little diverse, and while we’re 99.9% about Hip Hop/R&B/Soul, we also can down to a little unadultered pop music. Booooooyaaaa! So, with my free* ticket in hand, I sat back (ok, stood up) and watched Britney’s circus roll in.
…And oh, what a freak show it was!
It safe to say, no one pays to hear Britney sing, but miming the entire way through was a bit shambolic. And while it’s clear Ms Spears still remains a bit…’vacant’ and not 100% back in the game – what she does on stage for two hours (ish) is nothing short of spectacular. Granted, she had a few extended moments off stage (costume changes etc) – but nevertheless her show was just amazing. Dwarfs, acrobats, flame throwers, martial arts, clowns, dancers and all sorts helped Britney put on one of the most extravagant shows I have witnessed since Michael Jackson’s in 1997. And damn, I don’t know what the hell that man is gonna bring if his show is gonna be even bigger?!
Anyways, Britney isn’t one to analyse, you don’t need to think deeply about her artistic integrity or her musical ability – you don’t even go to hear her sing. What you pay for is to see her entertain and while I don’t necessarily feel she ‘loves’ what she does like she used to and actually at moments, felt quite sorry for her – she is, without a doubt, a born entertainer and whether you like to admit it or not, she’s a legend in her own right. ^ Never been a Ciara fan but wow, did she kill it on stage. Her moves are beyond serious! God blessed her with an amazing bumper too (just FYI).
So there you have it. Britney does the 02 big styleeee! I know she ain’t to everyones taste, but as I’ve said a zillion times before, music is about having fun and she most certainly granted us that.

There I was at the Daniel Merriweather gig just you know, chillin’, catching up with some peoples, enjoying the evening, when next thing I know I’m reading on twitter* that Jay-Z has signed a distribution deal with Atlantic Records & is planning on dropping the new album Blueprint 3 on September 11th. LOL. That’s a lot of information to take in, in like a couple seconds, while at a gig.
Anyways, so yea, while Jay-Z is still under the RocNation label, he has sighed a distribution deal with Atlantic Records (Warner Music) and if the rumours on the TinterNets are to be believed, he’ll be dropping it on September 11th 2009.
Excited doesn’t even come close. Seriously. BIG.

Who knew? I was under the impression (encouraged by the man himself) that Omarion was signed to Timbaland’s label Mosley Music Group, but ah well, guess that didn’t happen either. While this definitely is a good look for Omarion and his fans (I know many of you frequent PinBoard), but I’d be lying if I said I was overly excited. Never really been a fan. But as always, I will wait and let the music speak for itself.
