The homie Semtex just shot over the second part of his Drake interview shot in London’s Hyde Park (when the sun was blazing, remember that week?).
In part 2, Drake talks on: The Net vs Consumers //Rapping Vs Acting // What he views as his own flaws // Taking his game to the movies // Smashing London women
The interview was initially recorded, but as Semtex warns “Always format your hard drive!!!!” as he lost the footage for part 2 due to some corrupt files. But don’t matter, the audio is good enough!

I just realised I never reviewed the Daniel Merriweather gig at the Bloomsbury Ballroom I went to the other night. Damn. Well, in short Melanie Fiona opened the show and Merriweather performed along side some of his friends including Mark Ronson, Theophilus London & Tawiah. He put in a great effort, it must be said. Ya’ll know I’m a big fan of his album Love & War (out now) and his voice – so to hear him live (properly) was pretty cool.
…And I know what I’m about to say is kinda bad, but I gotta be honest. The highlight of my evening was watching Melanie Fiona! LOL. Firstly, I love her. Secondly, she’s actually quite amazing! Her voice is strong, clear & really powerful. Her stage presence is something to behold and it’s just cool to see a young lady making great R&B/Soul music. I was pissed that they cut her set down to only three songs but that was in all, enough!
Check her performance out above.

You’ll remember Jade from when we featured her and her incredible EP It’s My Heart, Cookie as part of our on-going ‘One(s) to Watch’ feature a while back. I honestly haven’t stopped listening to that EP since I first got my hands on it – it’s definiely one of my favourites of this year.
…Anyways, Jade just sent over a couple performances she did at Santos Party House last Friday (man, I cannot wait to get back there!) hosted by Vashtie & Q-Tip. She performed two tracks of the EP “Up & Out” & “Wolf”, check em’ both out…

Just to clarify, yesterday I posted a Mary J track called “Nothin’ On Me” which was a radio rip, now the CDQ version has emerged featuring Drake and is titled “The One”. Follow me? Aiight. Here we go…
Mary J Blige Feat Drake – “The One”
Drake really is the man of the moment huh? He’s jumping on everything, first news comes to light that he’ll be on Jay’s next single and now Mary J’s? Word. Anyways – I much prefer this version of the song obviously, but I will still maintain: cannot condone Mary J Blige using that blasted auto-tone.

Machinedrum continues to produce beats that quite literally hurt my brain (they’re that dope). His chemistry with Theophilus London always produces some next level sonic sounds…
Machinedrum Feat Theophilus London – “Late Night Operation”
Told you. This track is crazy. And no, you’re not going crazy – a remix of this track did appear on London’s This Charming Mixtape. But, I gotta say I much prefer this version.
…Theophilous seems to have taken up temporary residence in LDN Town as of late. He’s been all over the gaff. He popped up on stage with Daniel Merriweather the other night during his Bloomsbury Ballroom gig too.

The Queen of Hip Hop Soul returns, with a new track called “Nothing On Me”. This is a radio rip, so course when the CDQ version drops – we’ll have it. In the meantime, check it out…
Mary J Blige – “Nothing On Me” [radio rip]
Cannot condone Mary J using the auto-tone. I mean, really what is the world coming to? Having said that, I don’t hate it. It’s definitely not her hardest track, but it’s cool. I hope the rest of her material is better though.
